Owner description: Beautiful series of waterfalls just off the Black River, lined with plenty of picnic areas for pleasant afternoon lunches al fresco.

This was our favorite thing in Jamaica. The falls are gorgeous. We did the zip-lining and the guides were great. We had a blast. There is also staff that guides you around the falls and took about a million pictures of us without a drop of water getting on my expensive camera. They showed us where is was safe to jump off of the falls and where there were hidden "seats" under the waterfalls. This place was filled with lots of Jamaicans too, so you know it has to be good!

We went to YS to experience the falls but primarily to zip line. This is a really cool place and the waterfalls themselves were beautiful. The zip line staff was very engaging and made our experience a safe and fun one as this was my first time to zip line. We did a series of four lines, each one progressively longer than the previous one. The scenery zip lining over the falls was worth it. Our experience to spend some time in the falls was cut short by a thunderstorm that moved through the area out of nowhere. So we spent a bit of time in the gift shop to pick up some souvenirs before beginning the drive back to our resort. If you do go here, definitely do the zip line. It goes fast but lots of fun.

My husband and I visited here in the summer of 2012 and were very glad we chose to include it on our itinerary. Yes, as folks have pointed out, if you start in Montego Bay, it's a long haul, but it's worth the ride. Although we can't speak to the prices for the individual admittance (we got a combination package that took us to other attractions as well), other folks told us that the prices were very reasonable. The property is beautiful and peaceful and hasn't been made to feel like an amusement park - even the zip line seems to fit into the surroundings. The structures that are built on the property are rustic and blend in nicely. The mineral pools are such an interesting change of pace for a couple of Tennesseans who have never seen any pools that aren't chlorinated and garish blue - - they were so relaxing and un-crowded. The falls have been maintained in a very natural fashion too and haven't had a bunch of ruinous metal walkways or other structures built over top of them, just a nice walkway and stairs that follow alongside the falls. There are professional guides all along the path who will assist you if you care to venture out into the parts of the falls that are passable - be wise and avail yourself of their help and don't try to walk out on your own. Tip them if they do help you - they deserve it. Overall, this was just a really enjoyable and naturally beautiful part of our Jamaican vacation and we would gladly visit there again.

I went with a bunch of friends, and our tour guide at YS Falls was very nice. He herded us all to the most beautiful spots for pictures and tirelessly took photos with three separate cameras. I also did the rope swing and jumped into the pool. The water is cold so I recommend a swim shirt, and I also wore swim shoes to walk on the rocks. I had expected lockers, but you don't really need them. You just bring your bag and set it in a gazebo near the waterfall you are frolicking in.

The water level was too low to do river tubing, which was disappointing. We didn't do the zip lining there, but it looked fun.

The food options were limited, but tasty.

YS Falls is lesser known than Dunns River Falls and more fun! You can go all the way up to the top to take pictures and you can swing off the ropes into the water. Bring money, there will be men who will help you by giving you gloves to grip the rope and take pictures for you. You can't miss this one. It's scenery alone is fabulous. At the VERY bottom you can just sit in the water and take pictures or just hang out in the water. At the very bottom is a pool where people just hang out. Picnic tables and restrooms with gift shop. If your staying in Montego Bay make this an excursion on your list. NOTE: It only takes a little while to do this, so wrap this into another excursion/trip.
