Owner description: Beautiful series of waterfalls just off the Black River, lined with plenty of picnic areas for pleasant afternoon lunches al fresco.

Depending on how far you are from YS falls, it is a very nice place. Overall it is a little small. The falls are nice and very cold. Bring your water shoes because negotiating the falls without them is nearly impossible. If you have a wetsuit vest, bring it. The water is cold! There is a rope swing and multiple levels of pools that you an swim in. It was enjoyable but as a day experience there are better places that are this far away from Montego Bay (most notably the Blue Hole). Skip the lunch at the stand at the falls. It was average at best.

The falls are beautiful and refreshing. There's also a pool and you can zipline (for an additional fee).

YS Falls was part of our three-stop tour in Jamaica. It was also the best part of the tour. The falls are spectacular and very well maintained. There are steps to climb to the top -- a bit steep though. Amazingly enough, the falls were not crowded at all and we got to swim at our leisure in the middle falls. One of the guides on location took a bunch of pictures of us with our camera. He also took time to tell us where to go around the falls. The water was nice and cool -- it was great given the day was so hot. This location is just amazing with lovely gardens and beautiful flowers all around. Definitely worth the 2.5 hour bus ride from Montego Bay. I would go back in a heartbeat.

We were smart enough to book a private car through Big Ship Tours for our group of 4. We arrived before the crowds and enjoyed lots of room to swim and jump around in the waterfalls and pools.
I highly recommend bringing crab shoes or other sneaker-type shoes that you can wear in the water because the rocks are pretty rough adn sharp in most spots. We all got at least one scratch or scrape and my pedicure was ruined from hitting my toes against the rocks. It was still really cool to swim here and our companions had fun swinging from the ropes. There are some natural pools at "base camp" that were really nice to swim in as well. the water wasn't high enough for us to go tubing, so that was a bummer but we still had a great experience.
On our way out there were maybe a hundred people or more waiting in line to go up to the falls so make sureyou get there early if you want to experience some peace and quiet in the falls!

We visited YS falls as part of a 3 stop tour. This was my favourite part. There are some steep stairs to climb but overall very little physical activity is required and it's a great way to cool off in the heat. Falls are stunning and not too crowded.
