Tuesday 5th August, staying 3 nights at the Travelodge in Pencoed, could not face eating again in the Old Mill Harvester next door, ate there on the first evening, which was enough. So we decided to pay a visit to St Marys (Saints) as we saw that they did evening meals. It is a long drive up to the hotel, we thought we had taken a wrong turn but we arrive at this beautiful building.

The bar area was vast, unfortunately there were about a dozen people there so we all looked a bit lost in this great bar area. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming and the place was very clean and well maintained.

We ordered our food from the specials menu which were about £5 each, really as cheap as chips. Our meals were very nice and the portions were the right size, thankfully we did not order from the main menu, another diner ordered fish and chips it was massive and the one portion would have fed both of us. We ordered 2 drinks which cost £6.70, again reasonably priced for a hotel.

If we were staying in the area longer would have definitely eaten here again, would recommend eating here, in fact would not mind staying here as it looked so nice.

I stayed here for nearly two weeks and it became "home", exceptionally friendly staff, nothing was a problem to do or sort out.
The only slight down side is that if there is a wedding in the property the restaurant/bar area is effectively 'out of bounds' for a quiet drink or meal.

Room Tip: Although close to the M4 it is still very quiet but ask for a room overlooking the putting green

After hurling ourselves around England and Wales, my wife and I needed a quiet place to rest and relax. St. Mary's fit the bill perfectly. Even though there was a christening party the afternoon we arrived, the staff were very considerate, the pub was relaxing, the meal was delicious.
The setting next to the golf course is quiet and calming; the room was quiet and comfortable.
Trust your nav system to get you there; it's a bit of a narrow track. But absolutely worth it!

We met with friends for a relaxing meal to catch up. If you want a quiet, inexpensive meal you cannot go wrong.Sitting outside in pleasant surroundings to enjoy a drink then moving indoors for our meal. The specials board is as cheap as chips but 3 of us choice the rump steak, it was the best piece of rump steak I have tasted in a long time, with crunchy onion rings, chunky chips, mushrooms and tomato, cooked to perfection all served on a board. Mouth is watering just thinking of it. My only disappointment was that I did not leave enough room for dessert! I would certainly return with friends and recommend to anyone. I haven't seen the hotel rooms, but the setting is lovely.

We've just had our daughter's Christening party at St Mary's. We decided to return there following the success of both our son's Christenings 3 and 6 years ago and I must say that the venue and the service has got better and better. We had 88 people in total including many children, todlers and babies. The function room and decking area was perfect, allowing room for children to roam in an enclosed area and space for our entertainer too. The food was gorgeous and staff, especially Alison, great. We had booked to stay the night and were given a high standard spacious family room... 2 double beds and a single... it's not often that hotels truly cater for a family of 5!! Great venue for an event and a gorgeous place to stay the night... all helped by fantastic weather!!

Although I was a lady travelling on my own, to visit family in the area, I was warmly welcomed, and felt at ease as soon as I had checked in. Old world charm oozed ~ oak beams and exposed brick work. My room was very comfortable with a double sleigh bed, and a luxurious bathroom fitted with whirlpool bath and gold plated fittings. The views are over the golf course ~ started feeling tempted to take up the sport, which appears to be very popular there. A comfortable dining room, and watched the sun set while I enjoyed a delicious meal. I slept very well and had a tasty breakfast. Excellent value for money and wouldn't hesitate in staying there again.
