“NIce newly refurb hotel”

This hotel must have just had a makeover or something as i book this hotel with no other choice due to cost and the time of year, and i have to say i was pleasantly surprised by hotel after reading these reviews.

The bar and resturant are in mint condition with a huge screen (must be at least 10ft) and other TV's all throughout bar, this venue would make a wicked sports bar.

The hotel rooms could do with a slight upgrade to bring them in line with the standard in the bar restuarant.

I would stay here again, reasonable pricing, looks like they are working hard at improving the place

I didn't know what to expect after reading some of the reviews on here & most of them are right but what do you really expect for £45 a night? (Twin Room) It does the job, the rooms were ok, decor was a bit old fashioned, tea & coffee making facilities are good, beds were fairly comfy. The bath had a small crack in it which someone had tried to seal with silicone or something similar, showers were hot, not the most powerful mind. Bar area looked nice but didn't buy anything as we didn't have time. I was attending a wedding about a mile away so was ideal location. Could do with a refurb but cant really complain, would stay again if I was attending something near by. Staff seemed pleasant enough too.

This hotel should be avoided at all costs the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired certainly in the dining/breakfast room, dirty table cloths and cuttlery with food still on it and no apologies for it when shown. In my mothers bedroom her TV did not work and in my room there was a double electric wall socket hanging out of the wall a fire hazard if ever I saw one. I note also that you are unable to leave any testimonials on their own web site or if there is a way it is very hard to find, I wonder why. If you want to enjoy a stay in Wales DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

The decor was 1970s throughout, the corridors and rooms smelt musty, and there were stains all over the carpet. Moreover, the bathroom carpet was soaking wet, and there was mould on the walls. We were staying in the hotel however attending a function nearby. When we returned to the hotel at around midnight there were drunks running up and down the corridors and banging on all the doors. The bed was uncomfortable with springs sticking out. Needless to say we didn't get a wink of sleep. I wish I had read the comments on this website before booking to stay at this hell hole.

We booked into this hotel for three nights and checked out after the first.
The room and the bar area were extremely scruffy, the whole place needs to be refurbished.
The menu is ok if you like curry, luckily I do.
Breakfast did not look very fresh, I think it had been standing for a few hours.
The staff were more interested in playing cards and pool in the bar, than seeing to the requirements of the guests.
Cannot recommend this hotel at all.

Absolutely appaling!! The room was extremely untidy, dirty and shabby!! The mattress was extremely uncomfortable the springs were sticking out all over, the bins hadn't been emptied the bathroom was grimmy. It was in the sort of condition overall that i would have expected in a budget £20 a night hotel. We was told breakfast was available upuntil 9.30, 4 of us went down at just after 9.15 and there was no food what so ever on the serving counter, no milk for the small amount of cereal left in the plastic storage container and no orange juice in the jug. we stood there for five minutes waiting for the waitress who stood in the kitchen door way talking to the kitchen staff who in the end we had to call to get her attention, we asked the waitress who spoke little english if we could have some breakfast to which she was very rude and abrubt , she came back and abruptly told us it was on its way however 10 minutes later while we were still standing at the counter waiting she came over and then told us "breakfast over now"!! as there was no manager, senior staff or even another member of staff in the hotel other then the kitchen staff we had to go into the kitchen ourself to speak to another non english speaker to get some breakfast for the 4 of to which they finally agreed to make us to which 10 minutes later 2 sausages 2 pieces of bacon 1egg 1 piece of toast and a dollop of dried out beans came out of the kitchen to go between the 4 of us!!!
