Having read some fabulous reviews of this Premier Inn, we expected great things.
We booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children (email confirmation confirms this). On arrival the receptionist seemed to think we had booked a disabled room with 1 double bed! Having showed her my e-mail confirmation she again checked the system and could not understand what had happened other than the housekeeper had not set up the room correctly.
After waiting in reception for 20-30 minutes with 2 hungry, tired children we were moved to a triple room and the 4th bed was to be set up whilst we were at dinner. It duly was but as this was a triple room it was very cramned in ( not the spacious rooms that the reviews suggest) and we were thankful we were only staying for 1 night.
We arrived just before 5pm and it seemed the receiptionist was the only member of staff in the hotel as she was frantically running around trying to find a 4th bed whilst having to return to receiption on numberous occasions to check in arriving guests.
The hotel itself is lovely, new and clean and the breakfast was very good.
It's just a real shame that our booking had been completely messed up as we came away feeling very disappointed. We have submitted a complaint to Premier Inn but as of yet have not received a response.

From check in to check out we were treated by the friendliest off staff we have met in a long time, the rooms were large and comfortable with fresh clean towells every day, brilliant buffet breakfast in the mornings, good location for Barry Island and its great beach, also for the centre of Cardiff. once again a big thanks to all who work in this Premier Inn,will definitely see you again.

You get everything you expect from Premier Inn here, its lovely and new which shows, was very easy to park, we had to interrupt the receptionist who was casually talking to her 'boy friend' when we walked in, she was very helpful and checked us in in no time at all then continued to 'chat'. We had a room on the top floor which we didnt mind as we thought we'd have a view......we did, the reception roof!
The room appeared clean and tidy, had tea/coffee making facilities (only two teabags and two coffees) I can only assume you can ask for more but like I said we were checked in very quickly.
I will also say the bed was very firm and lumpy towards the 'foot' of the bed, and there was hair somehow hanging from the vent in the bathroom.
To be honest with you these were my only faults, nothing major at all....we didnt hear any noise. We had our supper in the pub next door but had apparently missed out on the buffet, they advertise its served 'till late' on their menu indoors and we got there at 9pm, the food we did have was good though and was money well spent.
We didnt stay for breakfast as we thought it rather expensive for a couple who have no children to benefit the eating free option. We went five minutes up the road to Wetherspoons instead which we felt was much better value for our money.
