Reviewed December 4, 2011

Excellent boutique B+B , smashing owners and staff .Converted old barn and out houses but done with real style and still with genuine old farmhouse feel. Food excellent. We had a slight wrinkle with hot water but we were first in new suite and Mark and Vicki handled issue very well so we have no hesitation in recommending Sutton Mawr .

Sutton Mawr B&B is a real treasure. We were visiting the Cardiff area this past weekend for the half marathon and to see the area. We chose to stay at Sutton Mawr initially based on trip advisor reviews. The owners were beyond gracious, the food delicious and the accomodations simply beautiful. It's very peacful there, warm and welcoming. We would highly reccomend Sutton Mawr as the perfect place to stay in the Cardiff area whether looking to explore the area or simply to just get away and relax. Loved it! Huge thanks to the owners for a wonderful stay!!

Room Tip: The Pembroke suite was perfect for our family of five.

We booked this B&B for a hen weekend for 15 of us, and we could not have asked for anything better. Service was brilliant, rooms were luxurious and nothing was too much trouble for Mark and Vicki.. The food was amazing, we had a moroccan feast with jugs of mojito which I would recommend anyone to have, and what can I say about the breakfast, everything so so fresh !! Homemade cookies and muffins a nice touch also. Thank you so much for making this weekend a memorable one for all of us girls!! Will definitly be returning.

Stayed at Sutton Mawr for one night with eight friends - booked the cottage which was beautifully idecorated nside with full kitchen amenities. We had the best welcome ever, with tea/coffee, welsh cakes and other tasty cakes. Vicki and her husband are so so friendly, nothing too much trouble. We stayed here because we could not get accommodation in Cardiff as we were attending the Take That Concert - this was great in the end because this place is amazing. They even served Pimms to all the guests who were attending the concert - fantastic long table in the courtyard. Such a beatiful place just outside of Barry - the breakfast was even more amazing in the morning - nothing too much trouble for the staff. Highly Recommend this place. First Class in our opinion. Thank you so much for your kind hospitality.

We too stayed for the Take That concert. The hospitality was second to none! Upon arrival we had warm welsh cakes and fresh coffee delivered. We were shown around the facilities then left to settle into our room, which was of a very high class. Attention to detail in all areas, including and umbrella for trips to the kitchen, gym etc, an IPod dock for alarm to charge your phone iphone, tv/dvd in your room if you want to chill on the very sumptuos bed for a while! We were told to help ourselves to the dvd's from the collection in the communal lounge/dining room.
We had previously had several emails with information about our stay, ie the offer of a BBQ, a special local 'Gavin and Stacey' tour, and also had our taxis booked to and from the concert. In the afternoon we had Pimms and home made fresh cream cakes served... Yum!! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The patio area outside is lovely with lots of lavender and fresh strawberries growing and is a lovely place to relax at your own table and chairs. We went for breakfast and having not read the welcome pack hadnt realised we should have ordered the cooked breakfast that hubby wanted. On asking about it at breakfast in the morning, it was no trouble at all and arrived in about 10 minutes. I had the continental which was amazing! I even had to refuse the freshly baked muffins that arrived during breakfast. We didnt go on the farm tour, though were asked, but are definately going to go back! I give it 12/10. The best place we have ever stayed including high priced hotels!

We searched for a highly rated Hotel / B&B for our visit to Cardiff to see "Take That & Robbie" and eventually found Sutton Mawr Farm on Booking.com. It was highly rated, competitively price and in an excellent location. I booked it, 2 months ago, and we stayed Tuesday & Wednesday. The hospitality was unbelievable, the location was fantastic and the accomodation was stunning. We stayed in the highly romantic Gypsy Rose for the first night and then moved, not for any bad reasons, to Glamorgan. The attention to detail, the quality of finish are a real credit to Mark & Vicky. They proved to be brilliant hosts, Pimms & Fresh cream cake on the patio, off the cuff and free, just before we went into the concert. They did it because they wanted their guests to enjoy the whole experience and they are achieving standards only others can dream of. The breakfast is stunning, & endless, and we can only heap praise on Sutton Mawr. We have had a great time, thanks and we will return.
