This was my first experience of glamping and first for staying in a shepherds hut , but after this weekend it definitely won't be my last.
Received a warm welcome on arrival and the location is just amazing, with views that take your breath away.
The furnishings in the hut are first class, and the attention to detail is second to none. Slept like a log on the first night and had continental breakfast brought to the hut the next morning. Have never experienced a continental breakfast like this one which along with the usual hams and cheeses etc consisted of homemade orange juice, strawberries, and homemade jams, to go with the warm bread and croissants - simply delicious.
On the second morning, after sleeping like another log!, we opted for a cooked breakfast in the main house, so that would set us up for the day, ready for our journey home, and it certainly did the job!
I don't think I have ever come away from a weekend feeling so relaxed and yet invigorated, and ready to the face the world again, after experiencing a little bit of heaven. I cannot speak highly enough of this place, and the family, Jill, Charlotte, Martin, and Theo, not forgetting Jazz the dog, who made us feel so welcome.
I cannot wait to return, and highly recommend.
Recently stayed with Jill for one night whilst doing the Offas Dyke walk.
Lovely location overlooking some great scenery.
Room was very modern, well equipped and comfortable in the twin.
Great welcome and cracking breakfast means I would recommend.
Shepherds huts looked lovely too!
We arrived at Lake Farm to a very warm welcome from all of the family. The location overlooking the Powys countryside, with snow capped hills in the distance, was idyllic.
The Shepherds Hut itself exceeded all of our expectations. It was truly homely, comfortable and cosy with plenty of facilities to make our first ever ‘glamping’ experience a memorable one. The ensuite and living room / bedroom were immaculate and tastefully furnished. The ‘star’ attraction though was the log burner. With the temperatures plummeting outside and the advent of heavy rain showers we were snug and smug inside. We had a wonderful night’s sleep and the following morning we enjoyed a sumptuous home cooked breakfast in the main house, prepared by Jill, who also provides bed and breakfast accommodation throughout the year.
The family’s happy and warm approach ensured a relaxed atmosphere throughout our stay. We very much enjoyed talking to Martin and Charlotte . who live on site, and who are actually involved in designing and constructing shepherd huts for a variety of markets.
I would highly recommend the shepherds hut experience to anyone, and in particularly the one provided at Lake Farm. A big thank you to all the family.
