“Clean And Comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2013

Just back from a two night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We arrived late on the Friday night and phoning ahead they agreed to leave the kitchen open for us, although sadly a number of my choices were not available, but the extensive menu meant I could find something else I wanted.

The room we had was clean and well kept, if a little warm due to the effective heating, how often are rooms cold!

The only negative in my mind was that the hot water wasn't hot enough, and to my shame I didn't raise this with the management.

If you want to be in the centre of Welshpool then you'll be happy here.

“Regularly good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

Went for lunch with a friend last week and had a starter as a light bite, a glass of wine and a good chat. Have been before for an evening meal but not for lunch. The service was just as good, the food very good with a good selection of house wine. Recommend the cray fish salad starter. We will be doing this again.

“Waited 40 minutes and when it came it was wrong !”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

Visited here for lunch on Saturday March 16th, the restaurant wasn't particularly busy although a table of 8 came in after us so we made sure we ordered before them lol. Order taken at 13.03 according to the receipt...at 13.30 one meal came out , followed by the other. Second meal was not what was ordered , waiter put it down and dashed away so took it back to the bar and explained it was wrong....response ....oh is it? No apology . He then went to kitchen and came back and said they would change it ...I asked if it would take a further half an hour as we were in pay and display car park ...answer no only 10 mins.....20 minutes later meal appeared so it took nearly an hour to get sausage and mash !! The table of 8 who ordered after us had there meal before I did . At no time did the waiter apologise , although to be fair a waitress came over twice to apologise. No offer of refund, free drink or anything. I also saw a lady on another table return her Mel but couldn't hear what she did was wrong with it . Definitely will NOT be going there again .

“Lovely Sunday lunch.....but !”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

We called in for Sunday lunch en route elsewhere. The lunch was good in a Sunday lunch sort of way, nice food and lots of it. Felt a bit uncomfortable about a woman at the next table on her lap top with lots of files working throughout but not eating ( staff management?????) not very conducive to a relaxing Sunday lunchtime. Staff were nice, salt and pepper like out of the fifties, only a small point but it matters....
