“Lovely day out”
Reviewed May 4, 2014

This is a lovely day out for all the family with a Castle that is clean tidy and plenty of history to see and read up on. The gardens are exceptional never a blade of grass out of place.
A great place for family picnics, room for children to play on lawns, and walks around the gardens or on the Estate where if your lucky you will see the herd of deer.
Will definitely be returning

“beautiful”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

Such a wonderful place and visiting the castle interior was awesome and worth the extra . Such fantastic rooms and you just have to admire the craftsmanship. The views were wonderful. The food in Henrietta's Cafe was I thought expensive for what it was and there wasn't a great choice so we decided to have a sandwich instead of a menu special and that was nice and fresh.Shame you couldn't wander to see the deer I suppose this is for safety reasons. Our son is a keen photographer and was told he couldn't walk in the park so he was very disappointed not being able to try and catch them on film. Over all a very nice place to visit. Wheelchair Access is ok for the gardens but not for the castle. Places were steep so could be very tiring for the pusher.
A complimentary car service from the car park to the castle is available as this too is quite a steep walk.

Prices a little on the high side. Wheelchair assistance is available - just ask in the ticket office.

“A Must Place To Visit”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

Fantastic castle and gardens linked with the Clive family. Really homely rooms, fantastic furniture and architecture, especially the ceilings. The gardens are beautiful, well maintained, great place for families. You can spend a day easily in good weather. The peacocks are the posers, strutting their stuff in front of the castle entrance. Well worth a visit

“Great Place full od character”
Reviewed April 25, 2014

A grand old place, full of history and romance. The docents in each room made the experience so much more informational and fun! The grounds were beautiful with dramatic vistas of the countryside. The deer were grazing in the woods and the sheep and baby lambs were playing, it was lovely.
