We recently visited the area for a family wedding. We rented The Gatehouse property for self catering guests and others stayed in the main house on a bed and breakfast basis. The proprietor, Henia could not have been more welcoming and went out of her way to make our stay so enjoyable (even supplying a pair of cufflinks for a guest who had forgotten his!)The accommodation in both venues was spotlessly clean, tasteful and extremely comfortable. The breakfast were well cooked and catered for all tastes. I would recommend this as a place to stay for any occasion. It is right on the canal and there is an easy walk into Welshpool.

Room Tip: The property is on a busy road but rooms in the main house would be quieter. Having said that we sle...

Everything about Moors Farm was above excellent. Room and breakfast fantastic and the location can't be rivaled. Friendly, and professional welcome and the whole house is decorated in the best taste with quality evident from the minute you approach up the stylish gravel drive

Great place to stay. Secure parking for the bikes. Own self contained lodge was super for us to unwind and have a few beers after riding around the spectacular welsh countryside. Breakfast at the big house in the morning was lavish and really set you up for the day. Cannot recommend it enough

If I'd only known what a nice place this was, I'd have planned a rest day here. The room was very comfortable, in fact, the bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of it. The owner was very warm and welcoming, and shared useful advice. Breakfast was both delicious and plentiful. A regular party of guests joked that they should write bad reviews to ensure that they wouldn't have trouble booking again. Very convenient for ODP walkers. Towpath along the canal makes for an easy walk into town as well.

We stayed here on our 5th night of our 'Offas Dyke' walk, North to South and as I keep saying the best way to walk it. It is right on the OD path and after a rather tedious days walk we were given a very warm welcome with tea and excellent home made Barabrith. The rooms were very spacious and ours had a bath and shower; the bath being very welcome as it was the first one along our route up to now. Henia very kindly took us to and from the local pub for dinner and we sampled the delights of the amazing drinks cabinet on return. I had an excellent nights sleep (no not just the drinks cabinet, the walking also helped!) and felt so cosy in the sumptuous bed.
Breakfast was delicious and despite neither of us eating a cooked breakfast, there was plenty of everything else you could wish for to start us off on our days walk. This was all topped off by eating in the most delightful dining room, set out beautifully and cooked by a lovely hostess.

Hope the rest of the walk went really well. Thank you for taking the time to write a review and what a lovely review, you are so kind. Its part of my job to make you feel welcome and greet you with Tea and Cake, and of course take you to the local for your supper. I am a walker myself as you know so appreciate any little comfort a host can offer after a long days hike. Enjoy your walking and it was a great pleasure to have had you stay at the Moors Farm.
