“A gem of a museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

This is a fascinating museum which brings life in a judge's lodgings in 1877 to life. The audio guide is excellent and visitors are encouraged to touch the exhibits and sit on the furniture. A unique experience in a museum! Below stairs is as interesting as upstairs and the cell block very atmospheric. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and the shop full of interesting items.

“Fascinating look into Victorian life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 7, 2014

This is a great "living" museum, particularly brought to life by the audio tour. The staff are also very knowledgeable and helpful. Would be a good place to take children, as there is plenty of dressing up that they can do. Have visited twice, and would happily go again.

“well worth a visit”

better than expected. If you visit Presteigne, then you must see the number 1 attraction. A bit of a "Tardis", and much better than expected. Well worth a visit.

“Fascinating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

This living museum wasn't open but, as they had a party of school children visiting, we were invited to take ourselves on a tour of the property. It was amazing, with friendly staff, and the genuine gas lamps guttering in dark corridors gave a real feel of history. We loved it.
