“Great for Families - Something for Everyone!”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

My family recently enjoyed a family reunion at Paradise Farmhouse. We came from all over the world, including America and the UK, and our group ranged from 5 weeks in age to 70+. To everyone's surprise and delight, the weather was superb, allowing us to take full advantage of the gorgeous environs. We went on walks, hikes, saw the sights of Preseigne and convened for meals that seemed to stretch the length of the day.(As an American, tea time is now sorely missed!) John and Gloria were as accommodating as could be, and the food was first-rate. Can't wait to return when next in need of a bucolic respite.

Room Tip: Adventurous folk among you would enjoy the yurt!

We had a lovely time. John and Gloria were really helpful. The wheelchair access and facilities were ideal. Family came to visit our home from home and we picnicked outdoors and developed our hammock skills. Being harvest time there were some treats from the vegetable patch. Not to mention the handy herb garden. We enjoyed having llamas as neighbours in the next field. Lots of lovely places to visit.
Presteigne is handsome and easily walkable. (Though a bit lacking in wheelchair accessible cafe culture. Entirely turned around by the sterling fellow in the award winning Judge's Lodgings who said we should return there and he would make tea if we were stuck).
Returning to Paradise that afternoon we cheated and got the car for the final lift of the chair back up the hill.

Amongst other adventures we enjoyed a visit to Old Radnor and St Stephen's and beyond it the fine viewing platform with a lot of information about the amazing history of the valley below. Not to mention the handsome Harp pub.

Missing the lovely peaceful views from Paradise still...

My friends and I had the pleasure of staying at Paradise Farmhouse for New Year. On arrival, we were all delighted with the modern cottages (we hired both for our party), the kitchen and lounge through to the bedrooms and bathrooms were large, spacious and modern.
Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming and the whole environment was relaxing, enjoyable and perfect for not only the adults, but also the children (2-8yrs old) who were with us.
The games room made an ideal socialising place with the wood burner roaring as we played table tennis.
The town centre was a good walk (probably 20 minutes) but offered everything needed for supplies - although there was enough to get us started left kindly by the hosts.
The whole group would not hesitate in going back or recommending Paradise Farmhouse to others! We might have to book New Year sooner now if you're reading this!! :)

Room Tip: All rooms / cottages were fantastic!

Stayed in a very well appointed apartment. The kitchen/sitting room had all you need for a self catered holiday. The bedroom & bathroom were excellent with a huge and comfortable bed. The owners could not have been more pleasant and helpful, there was even a freshly made, warm loaf awaiting our arrival.
The area is beautiful and excellent walking country, easy travel to the Offa's dyke path and other walks. Our hosts were happy to indicate good places to eat out in the area, including an excellent Michelin starred pub about 5 miles away where we had a superb meal. Presteigne is about a 20 minute easy walk away and has shops and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, squash courts etc. If you don't want to travel that far there is a games room on site with a table tennis table.
