The ambiance, welcome, peace and beauty of a stay at The Old Vicarage are marvellous. Paul and John bring distinction and discretion to exceptional comfort and fine food.

This was our second visit, and the Old Vicarage is as good, if not better. The dinner on Friday night was gorgeous, every course delicious and our dietary preferences catered for - do pre-book at least one dinner here. The bed was HUGE, comfortable and the room quiet. Paul & John were as wonderfully welcoming and friendly as before, and we came away gleefully clutching another jar of home made jam. The house is a treasure to behold, every room is just perfectly restored and decorated, we really cannot recommend The Old Vicarage highly enough, and we'll certainly be returning soon.

Room Tip: Do try and get there in time for afternoon tea, the scones & jam are divine!

From our arrival on December 9th to our departure on the 11th, you did so much to welcome us and our wedding party and assure our comfort as guests. The afternoon tea was warmly welcomed for those who’ve travelled the miles, and you were on hand to accomplish that with efficiency and grace.
The warm personal greetings for our entire group set the right tone for the rest of our stay, and we are much in your debt for the extra courtesies that helped us relax and enjoy our wedding. The food you prepared for the pre-wedding dinner, the wedding breakfast and the Black Tie dinner was superb and was a hit with everyone, and you have many new advocates and friends who will be coming back to the Old Vicarage.
We knew we had made the right decision in choosing the Old Vicarage, the Coach House and the Cottage to hold our wedding, some of which was based on previous experience, but you both took the worry away from us.
Paul and John, you made us feel so comfortable that the arrangements were in reliable hands. We never for a moment had to worry about anything.
We congratulate you on a job superbly performed and thank you for creating the perfect wedding venue. We will always have fond memories of you both and the lovely Old Vicarage.

We wish you both continued success, and we await our next return with happy anticipation. Ann and Christopher Blake, Cheshire

The best thing about this place (if I can possible chose one) are the hosts and owners, Paul and John. They instantly make you feel so welcome in their completely charming and beautifully restored home. Their food is 5* and although we (foolishly) didn't prebook to have an evening dinner there I would definitely suggest you do so as everything we tasted; including a homemade pecan pie for afternoon tea was to die for!
The rooms are all equally beautiful as they are unique. We stayed in the Gilbert Scott Room with it's AMAZING bathroom, and everything down to the soap dish has been individually though about and selected.
This is an absolute treasure of a place and I recommend it without hesitation.

This is by far the best B@B we have stayed at. The evening meals prepared by Paul are a joy, local produce cooked with loving care and attention to detail-the breakfast will keep you going all day. Afternoon tea and cake is served in the garden in good weather. The bedrooms are splendid, huge comfortable beds, good bathrooms and views-the drawing room is a homage to victoriana as is the rest of the building which has ben restored with loving care by Paul and John.Your hosts are attentive and a delight to chat with. We have stayed at the Vicarage four times over the last two years and look forward to many more relaxing weekends with Paul and John.

We can only concur with all the other reviews. This has to be one of the best B&Bs around. Everything about this place is absolutely spot on. The decor, ambiance, food & overall experience make this a real treat and an escape from the hurly-burly of modern life. Paul & John are the most delightful & entertaining hosts & the food can only be described as top-notch.
Having stayed only recently we are already in the throes of planning another visit! Can't wait.
