We were looking for somewhere to eat on Wednesday (Market Day) and had to start from our usual favourites
We weren’t disappointed - the pizza restaurant at the back of the hotel served until 4.00, despite the hotel finishing at 2.00 (bizarrely they didn’t mention their pizza restaurant at the rear?!)
The pizzas were the same kind of quality I’ve in Italy - wood-fired, very tasty and great value
I’d recommend the Mochyn Glas - with blue cheese, ham & herbs (pictured) and my daughters had
the Regina with ham & mushrooms (also pictured)
Great little find if you’re looking for pizza

Thank David P

We went here whilst on a family holiday as a party of 10. It was a mixed experience.

First the good. The menu was different from the normal pub food in the area. Italian influences and an interesting selection, well executed by the chef.

Now the not so good. Service was poor. We were sat round the corner and repeatedly had to go looking for staff. My wife went to find a waitress to ask whether as well as the normal menu it was possible to have pizza from their pizza restaurant. The answer was a blunt “no” and the waitress walked off. We understood it may not be possible, it was the nature of the response that was a problem. When placing our orders we asked what was in the seafood cocktail, to be told it was only prawns. Some people chose the starter on this advice. When served it was a full seafood cocktail. Staff should know what is on the menu. We had to ask for the table to be cleared, but glasses were never cleared. We had to find a waitress to ask for more drinks. We had to find someone to ask for the bill. We had to then find someone to pay. Service was slow, a 3 course meal took about 3 hours.

A chef was good ideas was let down by staff in our opinion.

We ate in the main hotel last week as in the past the food has been good but the hotel has changed hands. We wanted it to be special as we were taking family out for the evening. There were some nice touches with wine on tap and a revamped reception. The staff were quite friendly and helpfull and a goo selection on the menu. Some of us had lamb and my brother-in-law had a steak. The food look pretty but was very ordinary, not especially well cooked and not pleasant vegetables. For the four of us it was nearly £150 and it was definitely not worth that kind of price. we all walked away rather flat and disappointed.

Had dinner and a few drinks on the first night of our stay. The food was pretty basic and very expensive. Poor value for money

This place was recommended by our accommodation as having fantastic pizza - it did not disappoint. I've worked in a pizza restaurant previously so I know pizzas and this was by far one of the nicest ones I have ever had. Would love to have gone back but only stayed local for 2 nights. Highly recommend.
