“Vest food in town (but it is a small town)”
Reviewed July 20, 2011

Ate out three times in Machynlleth. Kept this until the end for a treat (it had been recommended). We are vegetarians and the choice was reasonable, and the food was really good. Very friendly and helpful service too.

“Good quality locally sourced food”
Reviewed April 24, 2011

We ate here at lunchtime on Easter Saturday. The staff made us feel very welcome, and were attentive throughout. My husband chose the Crab Salad - the crab having been caught at Borth, a few miles away. Fresh, tasty and succulent I chose the Lamb's Liver with Bacon. It was tender and the gravy so tasty I had to mop it up with the wonderful fresh bread which accompanied our meals. Definitey a place we will return to.

“Good choice of food, local produce, very fresh.”
Reviewed August 31, 2010

Good choice of food, local produce, very fresh. Ihad the smoked salmon starter which was agood portion nd very fresh. My husband had curry soup, good consistency and flavour. Main was dish casserole - a few bones but not enough to spoil my enjoyment. My husband had the vegetarian flan. Staff attentive and informative.

“Wynnstay Pizzeria - great for families with children”
Reviewed February 27, 2010

The Wynnstay Hotel has a restaurant behind the main hotel which is the Pizzeria. It is a great place to go with children as it opens early (at 5pm ish I think), the food comes relatively quickly, it is reasonably priced, they have plenty of highchairs and hard floors which are easy to clean if you have messy toddlers! Our children love watching the chef make the pizza dough at the open kitchen and seeing the pizzas go into the wood fired oven. It's worth booking during the holidays as it does get busy. The pizzas themselves are great - thin crusts and good ingredients, occasionally a little soggy. The service is generally good and efficient. The atmostphere is fine but the accoustics in the restaurant itself can be a little noisy if the place is busy and they have music on. There is seating outside in a lovely little courtyard for when the weather is warmer. It is definitely somewhere we will go to again.
