have been to stay here 3 or 4 times now and we love it , best b n b we have stayed in by a long way , large well kept rooms and superb local food and ideally placed to visit an interesting area so much so that we used it as a base to find our house before moving to the area and for our wedding night , very helpful and friendly owners and great service , highly recommended

We thought Plas Mawr was very clean and Tina was so helpful. Our room was extremely comfortable and the shower was excellent. One little thing, a second chair would add to the comfort.

I agree with the other reviewers about the comfort of this B&B, and the charm of the owner, but be warned - it is located right beside the main road between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth, and bedroom windows are therefore only three metres from the traffic that thunders past. Parking is on the side of the highway, and your car will be only a foot away from passing trucks. The road is quieter at night, but if you are a light sleeper, look elsewhere.

We take all customer comments seriously. We have now fitted high quality secondary glazing to all rooms which face the road. This has reduced the noise level considerably. We have also pruned the shrubs to make the parking area wider.

I spent ages ringing around lots of places to stay and many in this area were outside my budget. I was looking for a special place for my 65 year old mother and myself to spend some'Quality time' and bond having not visited her in the U.K in years.
The Plas Mawr Bed and Breakfast provided us with great en-suite bedrooms and a private guest lounge with an open fire, which made a cosy setting for our long overdue reunion.

Tina, the host, catered for all our unique dietary needs and really pampered us as if we were family. I was so delighted and grateful that I wanted to spread the word about this fabulous "Home away from Home".

We stayed in the B&B when our usual base in the area was full. It was well worth the money. Our room was beautifully decorated and the service was excellent. The choice of breakfasts was great, and the open fire in the lounge was lovely to relax in front of in the evening.

  • Liked — The feeling of home from home
  • Disliked — The walk to the pub was fine, the walk back a little long!

I stayed for one night at Plas Mawr Bed and Breakfast in Eglwys Fach which is
between Machynlleth and Aberystwyth.
It is newly opened and the room was beautiful with a spotless ensuite.
There is a very pleasant residents sitting room as well as the dining room where
I enjoyed a super breakfast comprising of good local produce.
It's a friendly place where nothing is too much trouble and I shall definitely
return.
