Recently had evening out at Number Twenty One - the place is absolutely terrific, a real gem. Decor is the right side of contemporary, tasteful and relaxing. The menu is ambitious and extensive with different lunch, evening and set menus plus a menu board. Local meat dishes, several fish dishes and at least a couple of classy vegetarian options per course and specialist diets (e.g. gluten free) seemingly happily catered for (we asked out of curiosity and they said yes instantly). They even bake their own delicious bread :-)
The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the food was lovely through to exquisite. We had crabcake to start (punchy), goat's cheese tart and salmon and greens for main (both delicious) followed by eton mess and creme brulee for pudding (both disappearing off our plates FAR too easily).
The wine menu looked good - partner had several glasses of pinot which she happily quaffed, with a fine selection of beers (including local ales and cider) and other drinks.
Evening menu prices are reasonable for such good quality (worth every penny) and the lunch menu looks like exceptional value. We will be back.
