Simply stunning! Been every year since childhood and feeling remains the same. Varied and beautiful. Great visitor centre and feeding station. You don't need to be a birdwatcher to enjoy, but it's guaranteed you will want to visit again!

The best scenery in Wales. Birds can be hard to find but it doesn't matter that much because the walks are excellent. It can get very wet underfoot so boots or wellies are a good idea. And if the wind is blowing along the estuary it can be bitterly cold. There used to be an RSPB shop but this has now gone - shame.

A huge site covering all sorts of wildlife environments from woodland to wetland. There are strategically placed hides scattered around the reserve so you can settle down with your binoculars and enjoy the "spectacle".

Stout boots are essential if you want to wander around the many marked trails - be prepared to spend most of the day there if you choose to cover the lot!

We found the staff to be welcoming and knowledgeable.

The only minor "downside" is the lack of a comfortable "Tea Room" providing light refreshments.

Entrance is free for RSPB members.
