“Excellent food and service:-)”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 via mobile

Just passing so stopped for lunch and very impressed. Friendly staff welcomed us in even though we were extending the duration of service. Excellent menu delivered in clean modern surroundings. The weather was threatening but we survived in the garden overlooking the countryside. A table inside was offered if we needed to retire - nice touch. Our meals were promptly served and clearly freshly cooked. We will make a point of returning when next in this part of the world.

Loved - staff happy for small family with infant child to sit in bar area for dinner, food standard was great compared to other places nearby, quality of wine list, presentation of food when brought out, bill!
Unloved - Nothing, everything was exceptional

“Spot on”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

Four of us stayed here as a stopping off point on our Glyndwr's Way travels. It's not on the Way but we had transport so it was good for us. We stayed in their accommodation just up the road from the bar/restaurant. It was really very good indeed. We ate in the restaurant. The owner was very helpful in squeezing us in as they seemed to be very busy indeed. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. It was a really excellent meal both in terms of quality of food and its presentation. Breakfast the following morning was sumptuous. It was all worth every penny. It's good to see people getting their business right. It just oozed success.

“Excellent dinner”
Reviewed June 29, 2014

We were recommended this bar/restaurant so we thought we'd give it a try :-). We are so glad we did the food was superb. We both had the salmon en croute - the pastry was crisp and light and the salmon was a very generous portion and extended to the edge of the pastry. The new potatoes and asparagus were well cooked and the whole dish delicious, we'd certainly would order it again. Desserts were good too and the wine selection excellent. The restaurant is modern and the atmosphere ambient. Looking forward to another visit before the end of the week :-) Definitely 5 stars from us.
