After a lovely Easter Sunday the family stopped off for some lunch. Initially the locals & staff who had previously spoken English until I joined the bar to be served, suddenly the lingo switched to welsh.
The food was so disappointing. Apparently there was no mash potato left but they had put extra roast potatoes on the plate. chopping 1 potato into 5 tiny pieces counts as extra in their book. In my opinion a traditional Sunday lunch is not made using tasteless frozen vegetables. I asked for lamb but actually got beef. I wouldn't be surprised if this had been boil in the bag.
My daughters lasagne wasn't on the menu as vegetarian however there was no meat content. My husbands chilli was watery with hard rice & over cooked chips. In our party of 8 no one was happy with their meal.
To top it all these meals aren't bargain bucket prices. £9 for a Sunday roast I would expect at least taste & freshness.

Just had a meal at the Penrhos and was very disappointed. Lunchtime on Saturday and the menu choice was more like a greasy spoon cafe. It was very quiet in there, not surprised. The chips that came with the bar meal were dark brown, tasted burnt and were really soggy. Can't ever remember leaving 90% of the chips on a plate before. Won't be going back.

We pop into this pub for a meal most times on our way to our holiday chalet. There is always a warm welcome in this friendly pub. The food has always been well cooked and presented. We highly recommend the place.

My wife and I stayed overnight whilst visiting relatives in the area. I found the staff very welcoming and friendly. We had an evening meal which was excellent, as was the breakfast in the morning . Portions large which is ideal for me. The accommodation was perfect and the atmosphere in the bar area was very friendly and we felt right at home. Will be staying here again.

Superb hospitality from all the lovely staff, they even got our dog some biscuits! The restaurant was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. All of the food was well cooked and wholesome. The "specials" from the board were especially good. Large portions and wonderfully fresh veg. Good value and a very nice evening. My family took us to other pubs, but this was our favourite by far.

Nice little pub that serves huge piles of food.
A stones throw from the treehouses so ideal if you don't fancy cooking and a nice little walk. They have the usual menu but the specials really were superb. A little chilly for us in November but the beer garden looked very nice indeed.

My wife and i stayed in the treehouse further up the lane from the pub in October and we ate here on both days!
The food was very good - freshly cooked, local ingredients (the local egg farmer was dropping off when we were there one day). The 'big' breakfast is exaactly what it says on the tin!
The staff were friendly, the beer was good - definatly worth a visit if you are in the area.
