If you want a complete chilled out relaxing break in a log cabin with a hot tub, fantastic views, isolation, no phone connection, a log fire, tv with dvd, huge walk in shower, newly decorated, wine chiller, a pool with spa on site in a friendly family run business then look no further than black hall lodges ! Been many times and will still go back again and again. We stop in Erin perfect for a couple. Can do as much or little as you want, the walks from the cabin are worth doing and the villages around are nice to visit. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: All of the Canadian log cabins have more privacy. We prefer Erin as at the top of the site with nice...

We've sent the link on to friends of ours. We had such a lovely time. That should say it all.

If you want peace and quiet in the middle of nowhere then this is your place especially if you like walking and exploring where you're staying. It was as relaxing as a holiday can be with two young kids.

We had snow one day so we needed to do an emergency dash to the shops to be on the safe side for provisions as there's nowhere close. One thing that would improve Black Hall even further would be a small farm shop area to get essential supplies.

Swimming pool was lovely and we often had it to ourselves, for those with younger kids like us, the pool is just over 4' deep throughout so there's nowhere they can touch the floor, which was great for our eldest as it encouraged her to swim lengths and to get to the side.

Hot tub was amazing - it was our first hot tub experience and we're definitely converts!

My self and partner came back from a 4 night stay in the Inari cabin, wow wow wow, the cabin has 2 bathrooms, a twin bath. Sauna. 2 walk in showers, log burner. Beautifully decorates and lovely and warm. How could I forget the hot tub with disco lights in the evening watch the stars.

I spent a birthday weekend with my partner at Black Hall in an Inari lodge from 1st Feb. The lodges are amazingly well appointed. It has private hot tub, sauna, corner bath and walk in shower. The decor is modern, clean and the rooms are spacious. There were only two of us but there was plenty of room for 4 people in the lodge.

The fire in the wood burner was even laid for us with a basket of logs at the side for later. The lodge was also incredibly warm which is always a concern in Feb. There's also an indoor pool for guests. The owners were friendly and showed how to work the hot tub, heating etc.

There's not a lot to do in the area but we walked on Offa's Dyke and then tried a tea shop in Knighton.

As others have mentioned there is no mobile phone coverage at the lodges or in Knighton (there was at the top of the hill on the Offa's Dyke walk). Not something they can change but something they did make us aware of in advance through the email they sent. Perhaps given that free wifi would be a good idea? We paid for wifi for the weekend but you can only connect one device which is not really practical in these days.

A great location - definitely recommended!

My husband, myself & two children age 5 & 3 have just returned from our 9th break at Black Hall Lodges in Shropshire. This is a top class facility in an amazing location. When we found Black Hall two Years ago we couldn't believe our luck, fantastic accommodation that maintains its meticulous standards no matter what time of the year we return.

All lodges are beautifully accessorised and add to that touch of luxury.

The facilities are wonderful & my two youngsters have learnt to swim in the amazing heated indoor pool, which we have never yet shared!!!

My husband & I are now very proficient at table tennis, which entertains us, while the children enjoy the soft play area and the wide range of toys available.

If the weather is inclement, The play barn is fab. Tractors of all sizes are available with trailers, for those budding farmers. My little girls favourite is the sand pit, which we have to prize her out of with promises of more swimming.

The walks around the area are all fantastic and many trolley friendly. The nature & wildlife in the area is amazing & the children now know what species to look out for on our walks.
All lodges have information provided, with little maps of walks including difficulties & distances.

The hot tubs are a leisurely way to end wonderful family days, gazing up at the stars, (or on a couple of visits feel the wind in your hair ).

The sauna in the en suite bathroom is a true luxury, and the shower in the downstairs bathroom
Is always most invigorating after the hot tub.
The memory foam mattress and spotless white bed linen contributes to a refreshing nights sleep.

The wood burner is a romantic touch after a busy children filled day, although not really a necessity as the under floor heating is very cosy.

The family owners are always on hand if needed, and nothing is any trouble.

I cannot recommend Black Hall lodges highly enough, but we don't want to tell too many people it's been our secret for two years!!!!!

Just returned from a 5 day stay Inari 1 and we can't say enough positive things about it. Modern, clean, fantastic decor, spacious, every mod con you could wish for, including an indoor sauna and outdoor hot tub :) fantastic views, beautiful countryside. Really relaxing. Not great for phone reception, although there is limited on Orange. The communal swimming pool with wet and dry saunas, we had to ourselves which was great, If anything the pool was slightly cool. If you are into star gazing, we have never seen such beautiful clear skies with so many stars. They provide some fantastic information about local walks, most of which start and finish at Black Hall Lodges. The village of Knighton is about 4/5 miles away, should you need to pick anything up.

On arrival we had a warm welcome! The cabins were extremely nice and very clean (inari no1) the surroundings were gorgeous!! We had a lovely holiday, lots to do in the area and the swimming pool was gorgeous!! Especially as it is so quiet there and you can have the whole pool to yourself!
I can not fault the holiday, maybe a tiny bit expensive, but I feel it is worth every penny. In fact we have just booked a return for July 2013!! Can't wait :)
