Came here for a wedding. Booked a family room which was spotlessly clean.
Can not fault this hotel at all . Lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere.
All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had several children in our group and they were made to feel totally welcome. We ate in the restaurant the day before the wedding and the waiter brought everything we needed without us having to ask . He even put ketchup etc out of reach of the children...avoiding messy accidents! ..he was very thoughtful.
The food was excellent...as a wedding venue it was perfect, .the Sunday lunch was delicious too.
I would highly recommend this hotel. I hope I get to stay there again....well done for attention to detail.amazing staff, immaculate bedrooms, great food.

We used a KGB voucher to stay here for 2 nights and were more than delighted with our stay. The hotel was very quiet (first weekend in December) and on arrival we were offered a free upgrade which was a lovely surprise. The hotel has been refurbished with a modern theme and everything is of high quality. The modern rooms work well with the character of the building's architecture. The cantilabra staircase is wonderful, although there is also a lift for tired limbs!

The staff are amongst the friendliest and most helpful we have met (and we've met a few!). We ate in the hotel both nights; first night in the restaurant and second night in the bar. The food was delicious, well cooked and the wine was reasonably priced for a hotel.

Couldn't find a hairdryer in the room but always have a travel one in my bag so not a problem. Our room was at the front of the hotel but road noise was not a problem. The free wi fi is excellent and I was able to stream iPlayer on an iPad with little or no buffering.

Lovely little town with good access to Offa's Dyke path. Knighton Hotel is well worth a visit.

As with most hotels they can be hit and miss,we read some shaky revews on this hotel and found them a bit of a put off. But we took the plunge and booked. When we arrived we were parked in a pay and display outside the hotel. We were greeted cheerfully by the receptionist who printed a free parking voucher, that was nice. We were then upgraded free of charge to a bigger room with a jaquzzi bath. The room was clean and spacious and warm.Tea and coffie and lcd tv.( bit tempremental with the signal ) Breakfast was served to you and choice of cooked breafast was on offer. Also make your own toast with conserves ang plenty of cerial and yougurt. Room was cleaned daily and papes available to read. Knighton is a beautiful market town set in lush rolling country, and is right on the door step of Offa's Dyke national trail and other great walks. We went to Ludlow for the day its £2 to park all day, this is another lovely market town, with a beautiful castle and St Laurence's Church which is if you find the right place 5 min walk from town. . On the first night we ate at the Indian resturant in the town. 5 courses Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights £11.95 not bad but had better, you do need to book as gets busy. Second night we got a takeaway from kebab shop. There is a bar and a restaurant in hotel but i never used it. The staff we met were very helpful and we would recomend this hotel for a quiet getaway thank you to all the staff.

My wife and I came over from Derby on out motorbike for a weekend away. We were made very welcome, food was fantastic and the room with a Jacuzzi bath was a great way to relax after a day rinding through the beautiful Elan Valley. We had a great time and are sure to return soon.

Visited this hotel for lunch. Splendid choice. Opted for the bacon, black pudding bagette. Served with chips and salad. Absolutely lovely. It was quite quiet in the bar area. I thought it would have been buzzing. Staff were very friendly and really enjoyed my visit. I know Knighton is full of cafe/coffee shops, but I would be surprised if any were as good as this lunch. The bacon was thick and juicy and the black pudding peppery and very tasty, proper fluffy fat chips, yum. Will definitely be going back.

We stayed in the disabled room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent and breakfast was very good. Just a few niggles there was no razor point or shelf under the shaving mirror in the bathroom. The room keys were attached to a block of wood approximately an inch thick and over 7 inches long which was impossible to put in your pocket or handbag. The disabled room was on the 1st floor which woiuld be very awkward if there was a fire and you were unable to use the lift

We stayed at this hotel in September 2012 having booked a two night stay via KGB deals.
The beautiful staircase was very impressive and we continued to be impressed with our room (23), which was spacious with a comfortable bed and had great views from the large bay window.
Breakfast was good but as we stayed on week days was only available till 9am.
We did not have an evening meal at the hotel as the restaurant was not open on the Sunday we arrived.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
