My husband and I have just returned from the castle inn. It is our first visit there. We went on the recommendation of a friend of ours. The pub itself is very oldie worldie as I would put it, beams etc. The restaurant is really quite small but cosy so it is best to book. Although we had to wait a time for our meal, when it did arrive it was absolutely delicious. All home cooked. Very hot. I am vegetarian and chose the meat free loaf with vegetables. It was fab. There are no starters on a Sunday but there were desserts. We both chose Chocolate brownie, and because we are both a little strange asked if we could have custard and some ice cream with it. This was not a problem and when it arrived it was one of the most delicious desserts we have ever tasted. Our friends were definitely right the food is fabulous and we will definitely be returning on another occasion. Just a little bit of advice. If you go in the week and you are tempted by the king size pie only order it if you are a HUGH eater as it is massive.

We have just spent a week staying at the Castle Inn, Knucklas. This Inn is in a village in Wales, and oh what a joy to wake up to the birds and not traffic! Castle Inn is run by Vince and Ying, ably assisted by Rachel in the bar and Jean in the kitchen. Our bedroom was warm, comfortable and quiet. Staff were helpful but not intrusive. Breakfasts were tasty and set you up for the day. We met a lot of the local community on the few nights we stayed in. The musical night was certainly very enjoyable and ranged from classical, country western to rock and roll with a saxophonist, flautist and drummer to boot - along with a collection of excellent singers and guitar players. We would certainly recommend this place for one night or a week.

We ate here twice and had curries on Friday night (which is curry night). I had a Thai green curry which was very very spicy and absolutely delicious. My partner has the beef massaman curry which was also great. On our second visit we went for steak and ale pies and they were really really lovely. The portion of the pies is huge (we were warned) but I ate nearly all of it because it was soooo tasty! I would very much recommend a meal here.

We ate in the bar area and were able to converse with the very friendly locals. We had the beer battered fish and chips and the Fry, both of which was lovely.
