My husband and I have just returned from the castle inn. It is our first visit there. We went on the recommendation of a friend of ours. The pub itself is very oldie worldie as I would put it, beams etc. The restaurant is really quite small but cosy so it is best to book. Although we had to wait a time for our meal, when it did arrive it was absolutely delicious. All home cooked. Very hot. I am vegetarian and chose the meat free loaf with vegetables. It was fab. There are no starters on a Sunday but there were desserts. We both chose Chocolate brownie, and because we are both a little strange asked if we could have custard and some ice cream with it. This was not a problem and when it arrived it was one of the most delicious desserts we have ever tasted. Our friends were definitely right the food is fabulous and we will definitely be returning on another occasion. Just a little bit of advice. If you go in the week and you are tempted by the king size pie only order it if you are a HUGH eater as it is massive.
