Convenient to where we were staying, our first experience (after a walk) was a quick drink.
It appears to have been recently renovated and the feel of the place was both smart and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and all of us decided to visit again during our stay for food.
Having booked ahead, we went on Friday evening. On arrival, we were not rushed at all and invited to relax and have a drink while looking over the menus. My six year old daughter, who was staying up late for a treat, was spoken to directly by the staff as a normal customer but was also brought something to colour-in. The facilities were very clean and the artwork around the walls was eye catching and quite quirky.
The food was very good. My wife and I shared a sea food platter (crayfish, mackerel, whitebait) which was accompanied with bread/olives homemade sauces etc. We enjoyed so much, we would have eaten it again for our main course. Due to frequent disappointments, I often avoid ordering steaks - however, I went for the rib-eye. The steak was cooked as I asked (as was the other one ordered within my group), the chips were home cut and deliciously crunchy on the outside; I was very pleased. Although I did not indulge further, others within my group certainly had no complaints at all. I believe it has rooms, but am unable to comment. On a very busy road - but not noticeable when in the restaurant. However, there is a nice court yard to the rear if you wanted to have a drink outside.
