“Great Welcome, very comfortable stay”
Reviewed June 23, 2013

We stayed whilst walking the Glyndwrs Way. We would find it hard to make any criticism. On arrival we were welcomed with tea and cake. We had plenty of choice for breakfast and the cooked breakfast we chose was excellant to set us up for the days walk.
Will are considering returning for a short stay and using this as our base for a few days.

I stayed as part of a party who mostly were riding. I did not have personal transport and this could have been a bit limiting. There is however great scope for individual walks directly out of Brandy House Farm and the length of them only depends on your fitness and ability to walk. It was comfortable to be able to use a map but, in the immediate vicinity, not essential. The accommodation I occupied was in one of the cottages and was very comfortable. We were very lucky to have wonderful weather but there was space and facilities to relax even if it had been inclement. I had B&B and the evening meal. Breakfast was tailored to individual requirements and the evening meals were most suitable for people being active. There was a free supply of 'make your own' tea and coffee and a home made cake appeared every afternoon. Richard and Medina could not have been more helpful and sorted all the minor problems with no fuss. The whole atmosphere was relaxed and the objective was for people to enjoy their holiday. I look forward to visiting them again.

Room Tip: One self-catering cottage has a large sitting room and a Jacuzzi in one of the bathrooms.

We stayed as a group of 12 between us sampling the self catering cottage and B&B at Brandy House Farm. I personally stayed in the self catering cottage which was tastefully decorated, well fitted, comfortable and of a good standard. We had our evening meals as a large group in the main house which was excellent. The food each evening was good wholesome fare with accommodation to dietary requirements made as requested.

The horse accommodation consisted of individual American Barn style stables of generous proportions with plenty of space for tack and other bits. There was a wash down area and water close by. The paddocks were all well fenced, a little sparse in terms of grass, but I guess the weather h been a bit harsh this year. The arena is of a good size with Trec obstacles and other times for riders to use.

The highlight has to be the outriding. With a bridleway leaving directly out from the farm the options across the Radnorshire hills are limitless. We rode over four days covering over 100km, some fantastic canters, breathtaking views and wonderful riding. So much to explore and Medina's knowledge of the area is a great help when route planning.

Despite losing a shoe on day 1 they were able to arrange for a a farrier by 8.30am the next day which was brilliant. In every way they were accommodating hosts and made our stay comfortable and relaxing.

Highly recommended. We will definitely return at some point.

As usual, I phoned rather later than I should, but was told there would be room for me. I was lashed by hail and rain on the hills before I dropped down to the farmhouse, so it was great to get indoors. I was promptly taken straight back outdoors and put into a fine building across the farmyard. This was clearly an old building that had been completely renovated and modernised. The adjacent little campsite seemed to be full, as well as their camping pod. Breakfast was back in the main farmhouse in the morning, and was a fine little feast. I chatted with the other guests, who were all outdoors folk, all engaged in different activities. As for the weather, it was much better when I left.

Glorious location, fantastic views, great rooms and even better breakfast and evening meal. We couldn't have wanted more! We were sheepdog training and came with dogs and dirt and were welcomed warmly

Stayed full board for the parelli horse 4 day course with Jamie Evans and his lovely wife Matte Cowherd Evans. We had a great time and the instructors were brill and helped everyone over the 4 day course. Will be back again next year when Jamie and Mattie come over from USA and hopefully later this year for another parelli course. My room was spacious and comfortable, the food was excellent, its worth going just for Richard's delicious home cooking. Thank you to all the family for a wonderful 4 days. Elaine.
