We headed to Wales last friday for the weekend , after a long journey we decided to stop for dinner at Browns Hotel in Laugharne where Dylan Thomas used to drink. It was before 8pm, went to the bar to ask for a menu, we could not believe it when the barman told us there was no food as the cook is sick. The barman did not offer other places to eat.
Its not a place I would recommend, one would have thought a hotel like Browns will do their best to accommodate visitors especialy on a Friday in June!!!!

Will not pay another visit

Absolutely fantastic Hotel and staff amazing who were always keen to help. The interior of the hotel was a blend of nostalgic images or products from yester year with contemporary twist. The rooms were modern, well kept and there were little personal touches which made me smile, like small Dylan Thomas books, quirky little sowing kits or sweets hidden in drawers across the rooms. This experience brightened up my weekend everytime I came back to the hotel out of the miserable damp welsh weather. This is somewhere you should definately visit. Outstanding !

I stayed at the hotel with my husband in one of the classic bedrooms. We were made to feel very welcome and were shown to our room by one of the staff. The bedroom was tastefully decorated with a contemporary feel. We loved the books and the homemade shortbread. We would definitely return and the breakfast served next door was very tasty with plenty of choice. The only recommendation I would have would be to provide toiletries in the rooms. This was the only letdown in a fantastic place.

We had a wonderful visit to the little village of Laugharne ... the castle, Dylan Thomas Boathouse and the New Mariner Pub. Our suite at the Brown's Hotel was fantastic and rich in the history of the area. We recommend a visit to all!

Room Tip: Suites on the front side of the hotel are very spacious for longer stays.

I've just come back from a stay at Browns and had a really great stay. The room (Barks) was really lovely , the hotel staff were fab and the locals in the pub were really friendly.

Browns feels like a place that you can kick back, get a bit merry and behave just a tiny bit badly and it'd be fine. I really liked it!
