Whilst this isn't the first place you would think of for a group of friends to go to it was a great experience. We are all getting on a bit and tiring of the our annual trips to city cenres, so wanted to try something different. As soon as we arrived we felt relaxed, we started the log burner and sat back with a nice drink. This is definitely the way to camp and the views and hospitality were second to none. Thanks for such a great time.

Right now im yearning to return to this wonderful haven of peace and tranqquility. Looking through the website again i am immediately right back there and can smell the log burners and wood fires, i can hear the chickens, i can envisage the wonderful views , ...ooooohhh i so want to return...just wish i was in a position to do so...this wonderful, beautiful spiritual, relaxing haven is an absoloute must for anyone who is currently expereincing a hard working stressful life and wanting to escape from it all but be warned..once you have been to this place you will never want to leave. Fran and Tony have created such an amazing place which has had a hold on my heart ever since i visited.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mongolian Yurt which was lovely, cosy, warm, spacious and a sheer delight.

We booked Larkhill Tipis as we wanted to try the Tipi / Mongolian Yurt experience - what impressed us about Larkhill before we booked (and what swung it for us) was their commitment to generating their own power (solar and wind) and also their truly down to earth approach to what they have done.

We stayed 1 night in the Lavvu and 2 nights in the Mongolian Ger. Both had their own cast iron wood burning stoves which we cooked on and there was also the option of cooking in the on-site log cabin. The site had everything you needed - gas stoves if you wanted them, bbq's, phone charging point, warm showers, every item of kitchen equipment you could need, a great selection of leaflets on where to go in West Wales etc etc.

It was a really peaceful site and the hosts are truly lovely people who are more than happy to help with any question you might have. We found it was a great base for cycling / walking / trips to the coast. It felt like we were going back to nature but in the luxury of a lovely Lavvu / Ger. Highly recommended for a break away from it all.

Room Tip: The Lavvu is more 'back to basics' than the Ger depending on what you like but all have lovely furniture / soft furnishings. The Ger has a wooden floor so feels more luxurious.

We stayed in the Bentwood Yurt over Easter and had a brilliant time! The site is nice and quiet and Fran and Tony were very welcoming and helpful. The weather was extremely cold, but we just brought lots of warm clothing, big sleeping bags and duvets! The wood burner in the yurt was wonderful when it really got going, but unfortunately we never managed to keep it going overnight, so it was a tad nippy in the morning! Our 12 year old son had a great time making the fires outside and exploring the woods with his cousin who visited us with my brother and sister in law. The communal log cabin has everything you need for cooking, so you don't need to bring anything with you. The whole site is very atmospheric at night with the fairy lights, and it's amazing to be able to see so many stars.

You have to be a bit brave to have a shower though - they weren't very warm, but you just have to be quick (needless to say, our son wasn't worried about not showering!)

In summary, we loved it and will definitely do it again.

My husband and I stayed in the Mongolian ger for 3 nights back in May for a romantic break (only just got around to writing this review!!)

Fran and Tony are the nicest hosts, welcoming, friendly, they will chat with you if you like but also leave you alone to enjoy your stay, good balance. They gave us lifts everywhere (we had no car) and when we mentioned we would like to go to the steam train railways Fran even gave us some spare tickets for it - THANK YOU FRAN!

We had an absolutely fantastic time, made even nicer by the glorious weather we were fortunate enough to get during our stay. Our stay was exactly what we hoped for - peaceful, idyllic, different, and close to nature :) We enjoyed walks at sunset, meeting the turkeys, trying the compost toilet!! and lying on a cowskin rug in the evenings - not to forget the best part of all - dinner on the log fire every night before settling down to play a game of chess whilst toasting marshmallows under the stars!
Thanks to a delayed train we arrived in Wales hot, stressed, tired, and aching, but at the end of our stay we returned back refreshed, calm, happy, and thoroughly glowing!
