Review of Grub Kitchen

Grub Kitchen
Ranked #6 of 30 Restaurants in St. Davids
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: $5 - $24
Description: Grub Kitchen is based on the award winning visitor attraction, academic center of excellence, and working farm- The Bug Farm. Together, we will take you on a journey from field to fork. On the way, we will show you the amazing world of insects, the services they provide and the exciting new practice of eating insects (entomophagy). Insects are always on the menu, yet we also serve much, much more. From fresh local fish to conservation grade meat, and great veggie dishes. Grub Kitchen uses produce from the farm and the local area on our innovative menus, deliciously demonstrating how we can eat more sustainably now, and for the future.

Have been here many times as we only live down the road. A fantastic lunch as always, flat breads, clever little elements and pickles, wonderful dressings, super tasty locally sourced ingredients. An exceptionally talented chef elevating simple lunches to greatness. The kids love eating here too with the generous kids portions. On top of it all, fantastic value to boot. In my opinion you can’t get a better lunch on the peninsula!

We had a fantastic evening being entertained at the Bug Grub Friday night feast featuring Tom Thumb’s magic show. The food was unbelievable, a whole range fresh fish that had been sustainably sourced in so many delicious dishes, alongside superb magic. Would 100% recommend the Friday night feast to anyone, the perfect mix of food, fun and the perfect Friday night out.

The Grub Kitchen is hands down the best place to eat in Wales. The food is delicious and creative, the service is incredibly warm and welcoming and the atmosphere is spot on. The menu is a good mix of buggy and non buggy food for the squeamish.

My sister visited the bug farm and had a meal at The Grub Kitchen....she thought I might like Sally and Andy the owners and enjoy the food.
This time round we didn’t actually visit the bug farm but booked a Sunday lunch at their cafe and restaurant.

We were delighted to have found The Grub kitchen run by the owner Andy (ex chef at Cwtch in St Davids).

Ok, so this time round we were not brave enough to try the bug gourmet burger or insect platter but opted for the traditional Sunday roast. (Lots of non-buggy food including vegetarian and vegan options).

This guy can cook....it was up there as one of my top 10 Sunday roasts ever. The beef was so tender and delicious and is raised on their own farm.
It really is an ever so friendly and a truly lovely place and I am looking at returning when I am next in the area. The highest quality ingredients at a very fair price....I only wish I lived nearer.

It's smart, contemporary and food is sourced locally.
The food is tasty and served fresh, the spicy curried parsnip soup was mouthwatering. The cafe has a good selection of drinks to include alcohol.
The ice cream were well priced and so creamy. Overall, a wonderful experience.
