Description: We have a single menu for the main dining room and bar areas. The dining room is the oldest part of the hotel dating back to deeds of 1522. The dining room is a typical of a Welsh farm house with a large open fire that is lit every day over the winter period. The menu offers a selection from Welsh Tapas through to a selection of Welsh fillet & sirloin steaks and freshly caught fish directly from Milford Haven docks. We procure the majority of our food from local sources wherever possible.

We turned up here with out booking although they were busy they fitted us in and gave us a table close to a cosy fire. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere the staff were very attentive and the food was lovely although the portions were very large and we were unable to finish our meal even though we had really enjoyed it,the red cabbage was the best that i have ever had .

Went here after visiting Lanphey Hall where I was utterly disappointed. Got talking to guests there they recommended here. Delicious food; reasonably priced and clearly popular place.

Having read the generally good reviews and having had a previously poor experience, we decided to give the Old Kings Arms another chance! Having booked our restaurant table by phone, we arrived to be told that there was a very noisy young group dominating the restauarant and a suggestion that we should therefore eat in the bar! Reluctantly, we agreed, although wew would have thought that proper management of the restaurant was a better option!
The table was not 'laid' as we had expected and we were handed cutlery for each course, wrapped in a paper napkin!
We were handed the menus by what I can only describe as the surliest 'waiter' that it has ever been our misfortune to come across. (By contrast, I have to say that the young girl who served us was delightful.)
The cockes and laverbread were excellent - not so the main courses. The pork (both fillet and belly pork) were tough and the vegetables, other than the potatoes, never arrived.
We were never visited again and there were no staff in evidence so we did not have a chance to resolve this nor did anyone take the oppoertunity to check if we were happy with our meal - we were not!
Mr Surly delivered the dessert menus but by now we did not want to spend any more money here. We placed our spent napkins on the menus which he peremptorily tossed off when collecting the menus!
This is not a cheap restaurant and we had expected better - much better, particularly as the prices are not cheap.

We travel the world as ship repairers and one of our favourite places to stay is the Old Kings Arms. The Irish coffee is the finest you can have!.Very good value with a very good standard of room and general service.
