“Excellent family run hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

The sign outside says 'one the great little hotels' and it is true. Clean and comfortable with friendly staff, I will definitely stay here again. The food is excellent - reasonably priced, nicely cooked and presented. The rooms are spacious, with the bathroom almost as big as the bedroom. A great place to stay.

We stayed at the hotel for one night - very good customer service, spacious room (2 double beds!), ideal location, free parking and a great breakfast. The bathroom was great. We would only say that the shower wasn't very powerful (room 44) and the complimentary toiletries weren't very nice! apart from that, Perfect for exploring West Wales.

We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is very clean and the food excellent. A nice breakfast is included in the tariff and evenings meals are also available at reasonable prices. Everybody was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. There is no lift but help was immediately offered to carry our rather heavy suitcase all the way up to our second floor room. Rooms in the hotel are spacious and comfortable with quality furnishings and very comfy beds. Spacious bathrooms with toiletries provided. There is also a large, free car park. If we had to find fault, it could only be that there could be more hanging space provided for people staying a week or more.

We had originally booked 4 nights, but were obliged to return home early and no charge was made by the hotel for the remaining 2 nights which we thought was really good and much appreciated.

This hotel is very good, well run and is also central not only to the town where there is a good shopping centre, but also for exploring Pembrokeshire.

Room Tip: For a quiet night's sleep without the sound of any creaking floors (it is an old hotel) ask for...

This hotel was central to exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast and was ideally situated for us. The hotel was very clean, staff welcoming and the food was first class. Everybody was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A very good, well run family hotel.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and were given one at the back, but we never heard a thing from traffic or...

I have stayed here many times and found this hotel to be very clean and comfortable, It is close to the town centre and the food is top quality.I would say that the bigger rooms are located on a higher floor either the road side or to the rear they are spacious.
Car parking is free and the location is easy to find.
The Manager and his staff are very friendly and polite worth a stay.

Room Tip: As previously mentioned top floor rear would be my choice but the road side is okay unless you are a...

I loved the meals served at this interesting and quirky hotel. Breakfast was very good, and the evening meals I had on my two night stay were excellent! My room was big and comfy.Modern furnishing not quite in keeping with the 'Olde World' exterior. The hotel is in a good spot, handy for all things H/West. and has a big car park. The quirky reference is 'cos the hotel is no anonymous chain-it has character.I like that! Recommended for anyone visiting this part of the world. Handy for StDavids and Pembrokeshire coast.

NO LIFT in this rambling apparently old hotel. However, despite the 1625, the owner told us that it really is not true, but "kept" to be the oldest in town.
Check in was rather .... well, difficult. Our room, apparently, was booked by the tour company. When my partner realized there was NO lift .... he was adamant that one was needed or "something." I can NOT "do" stairs with ease. The room WAS changed finally, though reception, surely just "doing her job" conceded for which we WERE grateful. The room was okay, but did not feel particularly safe....anyone could walk behind the building and crawl in our room. The window situation was close the window and be warm. Access to an upper parking lot made getting into the room from the car level easy.

Room Tip: Be able to walk! Not certain what else to say.
