Despite the fact I've lived in Hong Kong for the last ten years, I return every year to this part of Wales, which is a bustling university town, laced with charm and surrounded by idyllic scenery.
Plas Glandenys is a well known focal point in the area. A great mansion, oozing with stories from its owners past and present.
The hosts, Helen and her husband Rhod - whose late father Julian Cayo-Evans was a legend in the area for his political prominence in the 60's - are as entertaining as they are lovely.
A stay in Plas Glandenys is a real treat for anyone wanting to escape it all, in style, in the country.
The accommodation is first-rate, and with excellent local cafes serving traditional Welsh fare and the most excellent Indian restaurant in Wales in the town centre. As well as walks, pretty drives and the coast a short drive up the road, - if you want a charming holiday in Wales, this is the destination.
A beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable apartment in an amazing location. A great place to spend a relaxing weekend away, only 25 mins from the coast with Devil's Bridge and various castles to explore in the area. The owners are friendly and the breakfast was delicious! Will be visiting again in the near future.
