If you're looking for a private retreat within easy reach of most of the tourist areas of South Wales, this is it. It's a beautiful but modern apartment within a tranquil smallholding. The only noise is the babbling stream and twittering birds outside!
The owners Cathy and Paul are wonderfully hospitable, and provide basic kitchen essentials as well as fresh home-laid eggs and homemade biscuits on arrival. The kitchenette is well equipped and the three rooms (living area, bathroom and bedroom) are all nicely decorated and clean.
It's within 45 minute access of the Gower Peninsula and the Pembrokeshire coastline, but away from anything vaguely touristy.
I travelled with my mother for a long weekend away, but it would be ideal for couples wanting a bit of time out together.

Last minute short break booked with ease. Owner very helpful and obliging. So nice to have fresh eggs and cookies as all as tea and coffee left for us. A very cosy and homely place. Small but not cramped at all and very clean. Lovely and bright with so many windows with lots of little birds to entertain you while you are pottering about or chilling out. If you like birds, this is an amazing place with dippers and red kites in the garden! Nice little garden belonging to the annex, which our dog enjoyed. You are free to wander around the rest of the grounds too where there are lots of different areas to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the absolute peace of the place.
When we first arrived we were very pleased on how peaceful and quiet the accommodation was. We were greeted very warmly by Cathy, who is extremely friendly and helpful. Set in a beautiful area very well kept with a lovely river running right alongside the accommodation, and so relaxing. Once we entered the accommodation we were more than pleased , everything you could've asked for and more. Spotlessly clean and very comfy especially the lovely bed! We also had a welcome package on arrival that consisted of fresh milk, home made cookies and freshly laid eggs from the wonderful chickens, which were yummy ! Great location to explore from. Thank you again Cathy and Paul :O)

A real home from home. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, every utensil you could need is there. All cutlery, crockery, pots and pans are immaculate. Full size oven, hob, extractor fan, toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave again spotless. The welcome pack with freshly laid eggs was lovely and much appreciated. The accomodation is of a very high standard, the owners have a very keen eye for detail. Bathroom has full size bath with integral shower. Bedroom has plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed. Also provided are tea towels, washing up sponge, hand/bath towels, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
We stayed here with our dog, Sidney. We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. The annexe is set in stunning surroundings and extremely peaceful. We walked into Kidwelly and visited the castle, canal and quay. Would definately recommend the castle, wish we'd have taken a picnic as there was loads of areas enjoy this. Kidwelly itself is definately a sleepy town, Saturday afternoon and alot of the few shops that were there were closed. We did find a pub that opened at 2 but most were closed until 6.30pm.
Didn't want to leave this morning, wish we could've stayed longer. We will return.
P.S. Cath, I meant to ask you where did you get the curtains from in the living area? Really like them

Can not recommend this accommodation enough. The annexe was well equipped, spotless and in a beautiful location. The town of Kidwelly itself was a little disappointing but there was plenty to do in the local area. As we stayed the weekend before Christmas the living area had been decorated which was a lovely touch. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Cathy and Paul made us very welcome, they were very helpful and friendly and although the annexe was on the small side, it was very clean and comfortable well equipped and in a beautiful location. Lots of places to visit within a relatively short drive, we look forward to our next visit .The smallholding gardens were a pleasure to be in along with the chickens, goats, cats and dogs. Great welcome at the Red Lion at Llandyfaelog with beer and food to match! A really enjoyable week

First of all, we'd like to thank Cathy and Paul for their warm welcome, it was a home away from home. Nestled in the lovely Carmarthenshire countryside, the cottage is very clean and cozy, and the welcome package much appreciated. The kitchen is truly well equipped - not just a microwave and some cutlery - so cooking meals was possible; the bed was good and so was the bathroom. At last but not at least, the place is beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommened.
