“The best of the little puffers”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2013

Having travelled on this railway seveal times as a child 1958 and as a young father with two children 1960s we had to go again as pensioners. What a lovely few hours travelled to Dolgoch Falls, got off and visited the falls. Got back on and travelled to Nant Gwernol (the end) then back to the Wharf at Towyn. The staff are great and obviously enjoy their work (voluntary)
When we were young we walked from Nant Gwernol up the winch line inclines to the old slate workings with the remains of the old buildings. Wonderful experience.

We have travelled many steam railways including the Jacobite railway from Fort William to Malaig which was very expensive and claims to be the worlds best......they have never been on the Talyllyn Railway or they would be a little more modest.

“A Railway Not To Be Overlooked”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

If you are visiting Wales it would be a pity to miss out on a visit to this delightful railway. There are so many to see nowadays (all are great) but this was the first to be preserved and has a charm of its own. The scenery is very beautiful and the trains clean and comfortable. Found the people running it both on & off the trains were friendly and welcoming. Ride is about 8 miles e/w.

“Super!”

I absolutely love this railway. Beautiful scenery seen in a unusual and fantastic way. I loved going when I was a kid and I still love going as an adult. Beautiful walks seeing waterfalls and other wonderful sights are also next to the stations. A great attraction that you shouldn't miss out on.

“Simple, straightforward fun”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

If you or your children like steam trains then go to Talyllan Railway and indulge yourself.

The stations, trains, loos, etc are all kept really well, the staff were excellent, the scenery is superb and the cost is not prohibitive.

Well worth a visit!
