I arrived from Birmingham by train at 9.30am and by the time I arrived at The Talyllyn Kings Restaurant breakfast wsa being served - very good value, Then had some fun travelling the Narrow Guage line before visiting the Garden railway and some further resfreshment before catching Arriva Trains Wales train at 5.28pm back to Birmingham. Outstanding Toilet facilities - some of the best I've come accross and superbly knowledable staff

We had a day on the train whilst on holiday in Tywyn. Very enjoyable relaxing ride on the train, with picturesque views and some glimpses of beautiful birds. The catering facilities along the journey were well below average and severely over priced!

Spent the day popping on & off the train following buying a day rover ticket. Kids travelled for £2.20 each which was fab and we got a voucher to use in cafe. We travelled all the way to Nant Gwernol and had a good walk round. Then into Abergernolwyn for lunch. Jumped back on the train and got off at Dolgoch Falls. Walk is strenuous with lots of steps but well worth the effort when we got to the top. Then got final train back to Tywyn. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

The ride goes through the beautiful countryside. Partly across the plains, partly winding along the hillside. We could see a lot of beautiful greenery and several small waterfalls along the way. The route and the stops along it are well maintained and there seems to be many people who work eagerly to keep it running.

For the best experience you should pick an open carriage. Make sure to bring an extra jacket or sweater though, it gets chilly after a while!

I love this fantastic preserved Welsh Railway. Wonderful views, nostalgia in bucket loads and incredibly friendly and helpful staff who are all unpaid volunteers, amazing. Would highly recommend for families as the station at Abergynolwyn has a play area and you have a bit of time to explore the forest walks before you head back to Twywn. Dolgoch Falls is a must see too.
