“Lovely place to stay”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

We were made very welcome when we arrived. A really nice hotel although little finishing touches could be improved upon such as painting windows but I would definitely recommend the hotel and would love to stay again. Ruthin is a good base for exploring the area. Dined in the restaurant which was excellent and breakfast was superb

We went on a two night weekend break and had a fantastic stay. The hotel is warm and cosy and we particularly liked the fab artwork which was on the walls. Our room was spacious and clean and the bedding was wonderful, really luxurious. We dined in the restaurant on the first night which was lovely and the whole experience was one we would happily repeat.

We booked this on a deal through KGB- fantastic value for money - we paid extra to upgrade to Oriel 8 and although the room was small, every need was catered for, we had lovely view over the rooftops to the hills beyond and a very smart bathroom, also the room was spotlessly clean. Gavin and James were both very helpful to us organising the Cinema in the basement for our exclusive use and the spahhh. Nothing was any trouble at all and we felt very pampered. Cannot comment on the meals as we only used the restaurant for breakfast but what we had was delicious and the conservatory is charming. I feel this sets a very high standard for the area and a great base for touring round Wales.

This is a really nice hotel - finishing touches here and there could be improved like cleaning and painting windows but overall I would definitely recommend it. The young lad that greeted us on the first day was very polite and very helpful, making room to store our push bikes. Breakfast is really nice - its been along time since I had eggs benedict and I wish I could make porridge as good as that!!! I would highly recommend staying here!!!

Loved the 'gallery' aspect of the place and the ambition behind the cinema and library, for example. Lots of high quality fittings/furnishings. We were a little unlucky that wifi was out when we stayed, and some of the original fitting out wants a little attention now (like a sticky bathroom door).
This was a good base to explore much of North Wales from and we would happily stay again, specially at the bargain Living Social rate.

Room Tip: Oriel 8 has the best views and nobody above.

This a fabulous place with the most welcoming staff and owners. I have stayed at the Manorhaus on many occasions and in different rooms of the hotel and it is a place were you can relax and feel well looked after throughout your stay with the help of Gavin and Chris. I recently decided to get engaged and the only place that i knew would be perfect for my stay was the Manorhaus. The guys made my stay just amazing, and were all at hand for whatever i needed. I can talk all day about how good i think this place is but my advice is to try this place for yourselves and see if you fall in love with it too.
