“Excellent”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

A really lovely pub and restaurant. Parking is easy. Plenty of room. The choice of beers is first class and the food is excellent. It's an old drover's pub and steeped in history. The owners provide a warm welcome and an excellent level of service.

“Aussie wonderment”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

Went here with some Aussie visitors so they could try thr posh fish and chips.on arriving and looking at the menu they wre no longer available as the menu had just been changed. However the owner came to take our order and I told her we had come especially for the posh fish and chips and we were disappointed. She went to the kitchen, came back a few minutes later to say she could manage the three mains for us.My friends really enjoyed them very much.Service was excellent

“Wow, what a hidden Welsh gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

We have been eating out for the four weeks since we left Australia, and Three Pigeons Inn was by far the best for service, friendliness of all staff (with the barman even giving us the history of the Wrexham Lager, having been served on the Titanic) and the chef gave us a dish which had been removed from the six week menu. Well done Three Pigeons.

“Teething problems?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2013

We visited the Inn as they were rolling out a new menu. We ordered drinks, which for a local country pub were on the steep side, but were good. We ordered the "6 Hour Braised Belly Pork, with crackling, sage mash and a glazed apple cider & thyme jus"
and "Asparagus, pea & ricotta risotto cakes coated in a watercress cream with a dressed herb salad" with garlic slices on the side.
40 minutes later our food arrived. The risotto cakes were fine if not a little oily but I hope the watercress stalk was not the dressed herb salad. The garlic slices were burnt black on one side and not cooked on the other. The belly pork was however the biggest disappointment ,the meat was extremely dry, the fat was rubbery and not crackling at all. The sage mash was doughy and the scraps of vegetables were overdone. A disappointing meal and drinks which at £40.00, should have been fresh, inspiring and delicious. I hope the Chef sorts out his menu. The prices and description suggest a slice of heaven in Graigfechan, it does not deliver

“£5 Deposit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

Trying out a camper van( bought from a friend) we booked for two nights at this campsite. We paid £28 and a further £5 deposit for the shower key. Friday night was good , an excellent meal on the terrace with friendly service. There is only one toilet and shower. However , Saturday was hectic because the pub was hosting a beer festival and the facilities were left open for all. We left at 8:30a.m. not unreasonable but no sign of anyone in the locked pub with whom to leave the key and reclaim the deposit. We had to leave the key tied to a door handle! A very good restaurant but not a camp site to be recommended.
