We just stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a lovely time. The rooms were fine and clean. All the staff were very helpful in the pub and hotel. The hotel has a separate entrance than the pub so if you dont wish to walk through the pub you dont have to. But i would recommend an evening in there, as it is a very nice pub in its own right. The food was excellent and very good value for money, we had breakfast and evening meal on both days. On the same crossroads as the hotel there is a Chinese and Thai restaurant and a subway,so you have plenty of choice but the hotel food was excellent. Their is also a spar and a costcutter , so the hotel is very well serviced. I would highly recommend this hotel for value for money and friendly staff. And i would definitely stay there again.

Great, comfortable hotel, ideal for families with dogs. Warm friendly service, food is great and your dogs are allowed in the bar area.
The facilities are clean, rooms are spacious, we stayed I room 21 which was for 3 people. Great location with lots to do in the surrounding area
Would recommend and would return

My husband and I stayed at the Valley Hotel on a KGB deal for the weekend of 3rd / 4th January 2014. We were a little apprehensive from a couple of views on Tripadvisor and the hotel from the outside does appear a little dated. However inside they have been upgrading it gradually and from the moment we arrived we were made welcome. A chap was sat behind the check in desk and asked us if we could wait one moment while he fetched someone to book us in. Check in was quick and easy and we were given room 5. Now this was on the corner of the building on the front facing both the main road to Holyhead and the main road to Trearddur Bay right by the traffic lights. My husband and I thought the noise level would be high, but in all fairness due to the new outlay of the dual carriage way direct into Holyhead, these roads are relatively quiet late evening and slight busy during to day with locals coming and going. Our room decor was lovely, bathroom had recently been refurbished and was inviting along with the bedroom which had matching decor. The bedding was lovely and clean, and the pillows and mattress made a very comfortable stay. We ventured down to the bar, and were welcomed by lovely staff who had reserved a table for us in the restaurant area but you can also choose if you wish to eat in the bar. The KGB menu had quite a good selection to offer, however you were given the choice to pick off the main menu and pay the small extra cost. We couldn't fault the food, compliments to the chef we really enjoyed our food. Nacho's and sweet chilli chicken for starter, with a pay extra option from the main of Fish and chips, served in traditional news paper theme and chip basket, with peas, and Half / half of rack of ribs and chicken breast bites. To be fair we couldn't even eat our dessert as we were so full. Second night friends joined us for a meal and once again it was lovely and they thoroughly enjoyed their's and also ate their desserts they said were scrummie, as again we were too full . Breakfast on our first day was all the condiments fresh orange/ grapefruit / perculated coffee, different tea's, cereal, toast, jam and selection of cooked breakfast. We opted for cooked and it was lovely. We didn't make it for the second day as we had enjoyed such a wonderful evening with our friends in the restaurant the night before that I was a little delicate to say the least. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive, we felt so comfortable in what was a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant was very busy on Saturday night and there was a party on in another room however the service we received was second to none and the flow of everything was streamline. Food was served piping hot and within a reasonable time length, along with service with a smile. We would like to thank Menai and all her staff who gave us one of the most enjoyable mini breaks in a long time. Weather was really bad, rain and floods and high winds, but it was made up by the hospitality we received at the Valley Hotel and on that note! YES we will definitely be staying again even though a KGB deal we would be happy to pay the standard rate for the hotel as it offers what is written on the bottle and no hidden extra's.........

Room Tip: We stayed in room 5 its on the front but as its a corner room its quite large and decor is lovely. N...

I stayed here on a business visit to the area: it's conveinently close to the North Wales Expressway and not far at all from the Holyhead ferryport. My room was large but more unintentionally retro than the boutique images shown on the website - maybe I should have been more forceful when booking; service was disinterested; supper was OK-ish bar-food and breakfast was standard white-sliced-bread B+B fodder - no complaints but nothing special. The place was clean enough but the dog licking its bits in the bar as I ate my supper was a bit of a turn-off ( and I'm a dog owner!). So I won't rush back.

Room Tip: ask for one of the modern rooms - and make sure the heating's working before settling in!

Dear Guest
Thank you for your review in regards to your stay here at The Valley, your reviews only help us to improve standards and we take all reviews in a positive light. We have been working hard over the past 12 months to upgrade or rooms and service standards. I'm sorry you felt that the pictures you had seen didn't reflect your own experience with us. We are aiming to have have all our rooms completed by the end on February before we start on our outside project. Our aim is to bring the hotel back to its former glory as a Traditional Coaching Inn.
We hope you will visit us again soon to see for yourself further improvements that are being made across the business.
Kind regards
M Lewis General Manager

Clean room and friendly staff. We will go there again in better weather to see more of beautiful Wales and Isle of Anglesey .

I returned to The valley Hotel in Anglesey this week .
I was going on a Coach Trip from Wales to London and stayed at The Valley on my outward and return journeys.
Surprise !!!
The en suite bathroom had a complete refit.
Most comfortable stay, as usual.
There was a party on the Friday night of my return journey but I never heard a sound.
I shall be back.
