Went with friends for lunch. Pleasant atmosphere. The food was fairly basic but well done and reasonable prices. It wasn't the most fantastic meal ever but was certainly good and I will definitely go again.

When we booked here we got changed from one lady giving us a double room that we wanted then mentioning kgb another lady saying the first lady was mistaken and the room was a twin we could have.
When we checked in we were told that we had to ask at the bar when ordering our food for the special deals menu.I found this was embarssing as the menu was difficult to find.
The choice given for the main course was fine if you liked lasagne with variety of different fillings or fish and chips you could order about 3 various steaks at extra charge.. We tried the fish and chips which were cooked well. After travelling quite a distance after a couple of drinks and meal we went to our room.Unfortunately it was directly over the bar and the noise went on till after midnight so no early night. The toilet was difficult to flush, the shelf was sloping forward so nothing could be put on it. Although bed and room were clean it needed some work doing on it !
The staf we met were friendly and the meals were good but we could not stay another night as we were told when we booked this twin was all they had and we now know why!!
We would not recommend room 11 to anyone who likes to retire before midnight !! Because of staff and cleanliness is why we have given an average if it had been for menu or room would have given poor.
If you stay there at any time Dont have ROOM 11.!!!!!

Room Tip: Back of hotel over beer garden looks a better room for peace and quite !!

after our 2 nights stay at the tarfin y rhos, we had booked 2 nights here, again on a kgb.
on our arrival the staff where superb, 2 young local girls and a lovely lass from azerbayzan.
they made us feel very welcome and where very chatty and nice.
we where given room 11, not for me. my shoulders touched both sides or the wc. problem.
however a quick word with one of the girls explaining my problem she relocated us to room 21
a lovely family room with 1 double and one single very comfortable beds.
on our voucher we had evening meals both nights. but take note these are from a seperate menu to the main menu.
as I could not find anything to suit my taste on this menu i asked if i could have 1 course from the main menu instead this was mussels in a chilly and tomato sauce so hot I could not taste the mussels. if I had bought this from the menu it would have gone straight back to the kitchen with a few well chosen words.
however the breakfasts where very good and service excellent.
now day 2 we arrived back at the valley at around 2.30 pm to have a drink before changing for dinner.
Where where the lovely lasses who welcomed us yesterday?
sadly it must have been their day off. they had gone, and took the atmosphere with them.
leaving us with a couple of middle aged women, who seemingly had lost the art of conversation.
except between themselves.
awfull.
i will list below service day one 5 star. day 2.only 2 star so a rating of 3 stars only

Room Tip: room 21 is a nice room

I have stayed here many times en route to the Ferry Terminal in Holyhead.
The welcome is always so friendly and the staff are extremely helpful.
The bedrooms are basic and clean but the bathrooms are quite dated.
I always opt for the "home made" dishes on the menu which I have found to be delicious.
Great value for money.

Room Tip: When travelling solo, ALWAYS ask for a double room for single occupancy.

A friend had recommended The Valley Hotel to us for an evening meal. We were staying at Trearddur Bay Hotel and found places around quite expensive. These did two meals for £10. I have to say it was faultless. The food was absolutely beautiful, fresh and well cooked with probably the nicest onion rings and garlic ciabatta I have ever eaten! It is great value and worth the 5 minute drive down from the bay. Only one critiscm, no atmosphere, there was no background music or tv and with only 2 other couples dining it made for a strangely quiet pub. I have to add it is probably normally busy but there were blizzard conditions outside when we visited! I have added a photo to show their excellent dishes.

We arrived by ferry into Holyhead after midnight and made our way straight to the hotel. They had accomodate our late arrival by giving us the code for the door and leaving a key and a welcome not on the reception table.

The hotel was a lot better than I was expecting. If you are getting picky (as lots do) then the room decor could have been better but I wasn't at all bothered. The twin room actually had a seperate bed room for the single bed which you don't see very often. The room had all facilities you would expect and for £25 for each of us what more could you ask for.

Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very nice and very friendly. Helpful with directions and a delight to deal with. Would stay here again any time I am in Holyhead.

Thanks
