Have been here before a few months back and had then a very average meal for the price. Decided to give it another chance tonight. The menu as last time is not that varied so there is not a large selection to pick from. Ordered a special from the board with was supposed to be a madras, which to be honest was not a madras at all they must have used a very cheap or weak sauce. It was completely tasteless devoid of any spice, heat or flavour ( which usually you would expect from a "Madras" luckily it came with some mango chutney which helped zing it up somewhat. The meat which was in the curry, Chicken was poor also the chicken used was cheap thigh meat from what i could tell (darker meat) and they hadn't bothered to remove the skin not a pleasant texture to an already lacklustre dish. the rest of my meal was fine the chips and rice were lovely.
My partner had ordered a cheese burger which was fine until discovering it had not been cooked through and was raw in the middle. I would have made a complaint if I had not been in a hurry.
The pub itself is fine and has warm homely feel to it. If your looking for a nice place to eat I would look elsewhere. As there are far better places if you are prepared to look.
