Ingledene
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We have been visiting Shirley and Richard twice a year for more years than we can remember, it must be 15 or 16 now, in fact we were their first paying guests when they opened for business, from our very first visit we were welcomed into their lovely 'family home' nothing has ever been too much trouble, the breakfasts are superb, with local and homemade produce, enough to fill you up until dinnertime, the rooms are warm, cosy and spotlessly clean, you are not expected to 'vacate' your room during the day if you don't wish to, and many times we have been quite happy to spend the day just watching life drift slowly by with absolutely magnificent views. We have long called it our second home and after all of our visits we return to the 'real world' completely relaxed, restored and our next visit already booked well in advance. Long may we be able to continue our trips to Ingledene and the Murphy family who we now count as our friends. Denny and Bob Wolverhampton

We stayed here in September, lovely place, good breakfasts, The view from the windows was fantastic. Lovely people very helpfull, the only fault was the bed, could do with a new extra large new one as this was far to small for us and very uncomfortable, did not sleep well at all.

This was a real last minute booking and we managed to nab the only availablility left in August. Very pleased! Owners were very hospitable, with lots of tips of places to go. Stayed for 3 nights with our 8 year old. Lovely views to front and back of beach and mountains. The clean, sandy beach is only a stones throw away so you can get down there early for games of cricket/football etc and pop back whenever you need to. The breakfasts were a treat with homemade bread and local produce. Room and ensuite were really clean and comfy but were dated with an eclectic mix of furniture but the advantages more than made up for this. Would go back again.

The situation is fabulous. The hosts truly lovely. The rooms are very tired and all over the place design wise. But the welcome and situation makes you forgive that.

My first night I got back I my room all I could hear was the thump of music from upstairs. It was turned down at midnight but still noisy for a while longer. Sometimes other hotel guests are inconsiderate. It happens. But I was gobsmacked to discover it was the owner's son. I was told he had been away for a week and had some friends over. And also that I was lucky he hadn't been playing pool as you can hear the balls rolling around. Apparently therefore I was lucky as it could have been worse !

It is absolutely ridiculous that he is that inconsiderate to his parents livelihood. Especially as (I am guessing) it is a relatively short season so he doesn't have to be considerate that long.

The second night was fine - no noise. Showed how nice the hotel could be.

We stayed here for the weekend with our 6 month old baby.

From the moment we arrived to when we left our hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The rooms have fantastic views to the front of the house. The room we stayed in was at the back of the house and although we did not have a sea view we did have our own toilet and family bathroom complete with a lovely large bath!

The breakfast was delicious with home made toasted bread and a fantastic choice of cooked items. Shirley went out of her way to make traveling with our baby as stress free as possible providing both a travel cot and high chair. She also provided a toy truck and car for one of the other older children in our party to play with.

We had a wonderful time in Holyhead and would most certainly recommend this incredibly reasonably priced b&b without hesitation. Fantastic!

Me my wife stayed in the B&B back in October in the seaview room. It was the most stunning view, and a really clean cosy room with its own shower room. The breakfast was beautiful, fresh made bread by Shirley ( the lady who runs the B&B ) and she also uses all local produce.
We have just taken our two young girls for a week staying in the cottage which is attached to the side of the B&B. We couldn't have asked for a better base. A little cosy cottage with all you need, kitchen has all the appliances including a washer/dryer and dishwasher, great for a busy family. Living room has DVD player and free view, along with a wood burning fire. The kids loved watching daddy build a fire. They also have a large garden area with all sorts to keep the kids entertained including a large trampoline and ride on things.
Richard ( Shirley's husband) was also very helpful throughout our stay, setting up the BBQ for us, keeping us topped up with wood for the fire, along with other things and they were both great with the kids.
Across the road from the Ingledene is the stunning beach, and not only is there the main beach but it's like it has it's own little beach, a little kiddy safe beach were you chill out, splash about in the lovely sea or climb up on to the rock pools and catch crabs and shrimp and even small fish.
All in all it was a perfect place to stay for a really enjoyable holiday.
I would recommend it to anyone, especially families with young kids.
Thanks a lot Richard and Shirley.
