“Delicious food, you should go here.”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Stopped in for dinner on a weeknight whilst staying in Anglesey. Parking was easy, we didn't like the available table, and finding us one next to the big bay window with a view was no trouble for the staff.

Ales were fresh, well looked after and there was a small but interesting selection. The house red wine is a favourite of my girlfriends but had sold out during our visit. The chosen wine was great though.

The food was my favourite part though. Really delicious and well-cooked. Some interesting ideas without being too clever and well-presented.

Recomended.

“Very nice venue - excellent food”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Went for dinner on a Saturday evening after a very pleasant walk on the coastal path. The place was very full so we had pre-meal drinks on the terrace although it was very cold outside. We had booked by phone easily about a week before so we were surprised to learn that they entertain very few bookings and most customers have to wait for a table. The atmosphere is lively and we found the service adequate even though the restaurant was full. The starters and the main meals were beautifully presented and very tasty. Wine choice is quite extensive and the bar has a very good range of real ales as well as the usual beer and lager brands. The building has been extensively refurbished and extended in recent years and is vastly improved since our last visit many years ago. I would recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone.

“Good food, friendly, dog welcome”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had seen this restaurant online as one that is dog friendly. We called in without booking at lunchtime, had no problem getting a table and our dog was made very welcome, as were we. The food was excellent, lovely fresh fish with a deliciously light batter, with chips and peas, and a very tasty sausage ring with mash. Our dog was made very welcome, being brought a bowl of water and a handful of dog biscuits.

The atmosphere was friendly, though it was obvious the staff were really busy with the restaurant being almost full even though it was a Monday lunchtime.

We were very pleased with our visit to the White Eagle and will hopefully return during our week in the area.

“Poor choice for vegetarians”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

We booked a table for 3 people early evening last week whilst visiting family locally and were very disappointed that the one choice of vegetarian main dish had already sold out by 7pm. When we asked what else was available the only offer was a larger portion of the asparagus starter as a 'main' which my husband chose. I do not like asparagus so the only other option for me was a bread starter- I chose hummus & pitta bread which I was not expecting to eat on a special family meal out. To add insult to injury we were charged £11 for the asparagus. We will not be going there again as there are several other good restaurants in the area and our previous meal there had been disappointing but we thought we'd give it a second chance.
