The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and the location idyllic. There's plenty of great walking on Anglesey, indeed there is a variety of routes from the cottage through Newborough Forest to the beach. In the cottage there were details of a number of circular walks along the Anglesey coastal path, we completed several of these. Llanberis is 30-40 minutes drive from where you can walk up Snowdon, it's worth checking the forecast on the Met Office website so that you pick a day with good visibility. We had a great meal one evening at the Marram Grass, which is about 15 minutes walk across the dunes, booking is recommended. Thanks to Delyth and family for making us so welcome.
Very well equipped cabin with lovely views.
Great walks on the doorstep so brilliant for dogs.
Would have been even better if the garden was fully enclosed for small dogs too.
Friendly welcome. Amazing view of Snowdonia and the wild ponies on the sand dunes from the cottage. Lovely walks down to a sweeping beach and the whole of Anglesey to explore.
Have just returned from a 5 night break and have to say it really is an amazing place to stay. The converted stable is spotlessly clean and has everything that is needed for a self-catering holiday. Apart from bringing the basics we called in at Hootens to top up with a large selection of their frozen foods. Meat pies fruit tarts lasagne and a large selection of frozen veg ( no need to spend hours cooking!!). The water at Tyddyn Plwm is heated up by solar panels and also by the log burner which at this time of year is needed. It is very easy to use and unlike many other places the logs are free. The location is very close to both the beach and forest which our dog Isaac loved walking in. Tyddyn Plwm is close to many attractions but what we enjoyed the most was sitting out on the decking looking at the Snowdonia mountains over the Menai Straights. Delyth and Nigel are perfect hosts where nothing is too much trouble. Thank you both. We can't recommened Tyddyn Plwm highley enough and are looking forward to our 2 week stay later in the year.
Excellent Eco friendly accommodation, fantastic location, beautiful walk to the beach, would highly recommend this, very peaceful and views of the sand dunes.
If you are into just enjoying the location, with fabulous walks, this is a great place to be. There is a path at the end of the lane, or the road takes you 1.5 miles to the beach, through the forest. In the winter the area is quiet, but in the summer I imagine it will be much less so.
The cottage is clean and tidy, although the lounge furniture isn't as shown in the pictures, and we didn't find the substitutes particularly comfortable. You will also find that the view you see most is the field with a shed and caravan.
Whilst we had a great holiday, and the owners or their representatives responded promptly to most issues raised, it was overshadowed, rather, by the log burner. We arrived on Sunday, with an outside temperature of 1.5C to find no heating in operation. This necessitates the water system to reach 50C before the central heating can be used. We achieved that, finally, on Tuesday evening! And never again after that. Later in the week, however, when temperatures generally were higher, the cottage stayed adequately warm, but the need to constantly try to keep the water temperature up was a headache.
Be warned that although there is a 'corner shop' in the village, the nearest proper supermarket is at Menai Bridge, about 20 mins drive away (but it is Waitrose!). And don't expect any 'welcome pack' like you may have encountered at other properties, so buy your milk first!
Stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days. Views to die for, owner is fabulous very easy to book with her and very helpful. Log burner and solar panel heat the hot water. Everything you need to for a perfect getaway. couldnt have asked for anything more. Say hello to Shan the owners mum farm next door, she likes you to fuss and feed her,
we will be returning :)
