Lovely country pub with open fires. We actually only came because my favourite place, Ann's Pantry, was closed for the season, but we were pleasantly surprised. Ty Dderw was very welcoming and the staff were helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. The lamb shank and mash was beautiful! We would definitely return.

We visited Ty Dderw twice whilst on holiday in Moelfre in September. We first visited on a Sunday and were surprised by the excellent quality of the Sunday roast as it was rather cheap by our standards. Turned out to be great value. We had our toddler with us and she was made very welcome by the staff. We were provided with a good high chair and there were good changing facilities which we found to be lacking in many other establishments on Anglesey. Having enjoyed our meal we booked in again later in the week. Again we were made welcome as a family and enjoyed another good quality meal although the cost of the dinner menu is greater. Nevertheless it still presented good value for money. The Ty Dderw is a great place for both a quiet drink and a good meal.

Absolutely lovely country inn where you can have a fantastic meal, good few drinks, amazing company & best of all we can take our dog with us. We have been numerous times over the last two years & always receive a warm welcome, wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks Jo & the Team

One of the things we will miss about this summer will be our regular tips to the Ty Dderw - roll on next summer!
The food is first rate with a good choice of dishes all at very reasonable prices. The wine list is comprehensive and again very reasonably priced. The draught beer is excellent particularly the Ramparts Bitter and Joe, the manageress makes a wicked Bloody Mary!
Joe, Jamie and all the staff are among the friendliest I have come across which makes for a very pleasant atmosphere - clearly a popular pub with the locals.
What makes this a stand out for us is the fact that we can take our dog in with us and eat in the bar. It is a mile from where we have our caravan so it is ideal for a lunchtime or evening stroll with the dog or after a long walk on the nearby coastal path. This is clearly a real strength as there are nearly always a number of other dogs in the bar area. If it was not for this fact we probably would not go as there are so few dog friendly pubs around these days.
It is such a favourite we may well make the trip up from Chester during the winter for a walk a meal at a weekend!

We spent a week in Benllach and ate out at three other establishments before finding the Ty Dderw Country Inn. We unfortunately kept the best until last which meant that we had no time to go back. The staff are pleasant and friendly, the food is interesting and excellent and the prices represent good value. They allow dogs into the bar but there are other rooms to eat in if you're not a dog person. This place is not right on the waterfront like some of the otherestablishments in the area but that aside I would recommend Ty Dderw if you are in the area.
