“Fabulous Stay!”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

Stayed here for one night as my partner was running the Anglesey half marathon. We received a very efficient welcome and were shown to Room 3 which was modern, clean and had a fabulous view over the Strait.

The hotel has a very popular restaurant and bar and we almost missed out on getting a table for dinner, however, we were offered a table in an alcove which was perfect for us. The staff couldn't do enough for us, my partner wanted to have pasta for his dinner (carb loading for the run) but there were no pasta options on the menu, however, the chef made him a chicken and pasta dish. The only disappointment was we were dining at 7pm and they had already run out of haddock! I was looking forward to some fresh fish being on the coast.

For someone who doesn't sleep that well, I had a sound night's sleep, possibly due to the isolated and peaceful location.

Breakfast was excellent and although check out is at 10.30am, we were able to keep the room until my partner returned from his run so he could have a hot shower before our journey home, eventually checking out at 12.30pm.

Overall a fantastic place, where the staff cant do enough for you! We will definitely be returning, preferably when it's warmer!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a sea view

We stayed here for one night with our toddler and baby. The location can't be beat. It's easy to find from the bridge, located right on the water with brilliant views of the mountains, sea, and bridge.

We stayed in room 11, which is in a separate building than the main hotel but very close, and with outstanding views and a (shared) patio. It was a cute, cozy room with updated decor. The weather was cold and windy, but our room was warm and quiet. All was exceptionally clean and an additional bed had been prepared for our young son, as we had requested.

Dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant were satisfactory, but not remarkable.

We received a warm welcome from the staff and proprietor. The hotel and restaurant were both very family friendly and accommodating. The one negative is the hotel did not have cots available for the baby,so bring your own if this is a need!

All in all, we had a lovely visit and will certainly stay here on our next visit to the island. Highly recommend it.

We were recommended this hotel by a friend and we visited this weekend. It was absolutely wonderful.
The staff were really friendly and made you most welcome. We were allocated Room 9 which is in a separate building to the main hotel, but within easy walking distance; less than 20 metres. The room was modern, exceptionally clean and well furnished and decorated. The view from the room was outstanding with the snow capped Mount Snowdon and the Menai Straights immediately ahead. To our right we had a great view of the Menai Suspension Bridge.
The hotel itself was really lovely, it was warm and had a wonderful atmosphere.
We enjoyed an exceptionally good three course meal. The food was hot and fresh and we were spoilt for choice.
The bar area was clean and once again afforded superb views.
Breakfast consisted of cereal, hot coffee or tea and a full cooked bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, beans, tomatoes and toast.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel is not expensive and offers exceptional value for money.
It was so good we've booked to go back already.

Room Tip: Nothing to add. They all offer superb views.

Took my husband on Christmas Day for his birthday lunch. The staff were wonderful, the food excellent and the views spectacular! We had never been before but I had arranged a trip away to Red Wharf Bay - we will certainly return.

Booked for 1 night to collect my daughter from University and booked a meal for the three of us for Saturday night.
Really friendly staff, we were booked into room 2 with a great view over the straits and a really comfortable bed.
Had a couple of drinks before our dinner..really well kept Robinsons bitter, friendly bar staff.
The food was superb, being a vegetarian, I can highly recommend the battered mushroom with brie for a starter. My wife chose sizzling prawns, and my daughter opted for the butternut squash and chick pea burger, both "absolutely delicious". The following morning we had breakfast, and without ordering, the waitress said "2 vegetarian breakfasts?"
The experience was so good, we are more than likely to book again in January when we next visit Wales to drop my daughter back to Bangor University.

Greeted by smiley staff we were shown to our table in the window in the tastefully decorated restaurant and our drinks order was taken.our starters of soup ,and home made fishcakes was tasy and filing .Followed by the mains ,succulent gammon and a tasty chicken breast in creamy sauce .Not ones for dessert we took to our drinks through to the bar to continue our evening with the locals and chatty staff. Will be back again next week.
