Myself, wife and daughter came across the restaurant by chance having never been to Menai before. Although the bright red frontage may put some people off please don't be. The menu is extensive and the food excellent. Our food was served at just the right pace and came piping hot. Each dish was spiced as it was said on the menu medium or hot and my Chicken Madras was great. The Chapatis which were served were too hot to handle showing they were freshly prepared. Waiters were attentive and polite and the bill was reasonable for a super experience. Got to say the best pint of Cobra I have had in any Indian restaurant!!

After reading Dr Millers I thought I would support his findings and hope that Big Chef and his colleagues take stock, revamp the dining area and improve the food to the high standards they have demonstrated.

I have been a regular to this popular restaurant for at least the last 5 yrs, In fact I have brought business to this "Once" fantastic Indian.

Over the past three months I have had about 6 x sitdown meals and takeaways and can honestly say that none of the meals were much kop and extremly dissapointing to what I used to get served by them.

T.o.I cannot afford to sit back and watch the customers go elsewhere as Menai Bridge has the best choices of restaurants on the Island and in fact Gwynedd.
There are good Indian restuarants up there game nearby.

Please take heed of this warning and improve your service back to the old ways (Not so long ago)

The staff here were very professional. Initially we were drawn in by the number of people eating there, however this was not misleading in anyway as the cooks were very accommodating in terms of menu and tastes. The service was quick and the choice varied.

It is with some regret I have to write this review.

Once serving up quality tasty dishes...Chicken Pathia was good, the Chicken Tikka Jalfreizi was up to about 8mths ago, the best in a long time. We then had a great Naga Chilli Chicken addition proudly served up...which went down a real storm and remained favourite on each subsequent visit :-)

HOWEVER...

It seemed as though 'Big Chef' has packed up his chutneys and sacked it!
It came about when I picked up a Chicken Tikka Pathia takeaway several months ago...only to find a very lack lustre performance in a foil tray.
Immediately an emergency Cobra Meeting (via sms) was held...around the ether table it became apparent that I was not alone in this recent crisis. Several meals on recent visits and takeaways were returning same results.

Friend, Chef and Food Nut 'Pa Larkin' informed me he even had to call out the chef for a dressing down on one of his visits, up to this point they were quite friendly and indeed on occasion called round for a spare cup of ghee!!

Questions needed answers...
The result of the debriefing gave no real conclusion other than a giving up, lost that popadum passion in the kitchen.

Due to such a blatant 'foot off the gas' and care-free attitude, we can no longer recommend this restaurant until further notice.

With restaurants in the immediate area plating up good indian dishes, I feel they could pull it back if they go back a step and take on the healthy competition.
So, down test and adjust...
Tidy little venue, staff can be friendly and professional, food has been V.GOOD in the past...This can EASILY BE RECTIFIED.

I hope so, be a shame to give up because other Indian establishments have upped their game.
