“What a gem”
Reviewed March 26, 2013

The Oriel is a perfect example of a local gallery, excellent small fixed exhibition and every time we visit a great temporary show or two. We spent a happy hour in the gallery and an equally satisfying hour over lunch and coffees in the lovely café.

Just a minutes drive above the town, pop in, its all free.

“Good place to spend a wet afternoon”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Actually it's a good place for a dry day too, for all ages. It's council run, but don't let that put you off. It's a small but interesting local museum, with a children's area. There's two galleries, one for Welsh artist Kyffin Williams' paintings, and another for temporary exhibitions. There's a changing display within the museum too, recently about local archaeology, well displayed.
There's a good shop for locally produced crafts and presents, and a good range of local interest books in Welsh and English.
There's a simple cafe, with good basic meals, cakes and coffee. It's popular with locals, and can be very busy at lunchtime.

“Such an interesting gallery”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

This is a purpose built museum and art gallery with plenty of parking and a cafe near Llangefni. There is a wonderful educational display of the history of Anglesey and an Art Gallery for artists, sculptors and craftworkers to present their work in lovely surroundings. There is a section of the Art Gallery especially dedicated to Charles F. Tunnicliffe the wildlife artist. The shop is full of unique gifts, jewellery, local foods and local crafts. Very interesting and enjoyable.
