We arrived to a lovely warm welcome, and we were upgraded to a room at the front of the house with a four poster bed, and a bottle of proseco waiting for us in a bucket of ice. The room was lovely and warm, and although the bathroom could have done with a facelift it was spotless along with the bedroom and the rest of the hotel.
Our evening meal was delicious, the staff were impeccable and polite, all smartly presented in their uniform, after our meal we sat in the library with our coffee in front of a fire.
The hotel had a lovely spa and we enjoyed afternoon tea in the clock tower coffee house the following afternoon, again this was delicious.
The breakfast was extensive, plenty of choice on the cold buffet, the cooked breakfast was cooked beautifully and the standard of the bacon and sausages was superb.
We had a wonderful restful time, it was a bolt hole for us and we felt fully relaxed when we left.
Thank you for a wonderful anniversary stay, we shall definitely stay again.

i have not stayed at the hotel overnight as i live in the local area, but i have visited the spa on a number of occasions and i give the spa, its facilities, the decor, the staff and food a massive 10/10.
I have had a few different treatments, Anglesey salt polish, facial and Indian head massage and i will be going back for more as soon as i can.
i enjoy relaxing by the pool reading a book in the robes and slippers provided, sipping hot chocolate and i love the new steam room, the food is great i would recommend the breaded mushrooms and the chicken salad

We got a great deal through a Travel Zoo voucher.

Service was excellent at dinner, very attentive staff. The food was first class.

The house is wonderful. We would have liked to take in the gardens surrounding the house but the recent wet weather meant conditions weren't suitable unfortunately.

We found this hotel through a deal with Travelzoo which was fantastic value for money. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The entrance to the hotel is very impressive with lovely log fires and comfy settees, a nice relaxing place after dinner to enjoy a glass of wine.
The rooms were lovely, spacious and tastefully decorated. The spa was spotlessly clean, again with lovely staff. The spa facilities are excellent and we enjoyed a chilled day by the pool and in the jacuzzi.
Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic, again the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast again was excellent.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere which is perfect if you do want to get away from it all and just chill out.
I will definitely be booking again soon.

Went on a KGB deal, was really excellent value. Stayed a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary.

Firstly, this place is in the middle of nowhere, beautiful countryside all around, but if you like to venture out and walk to the local pub then there isn't one! But, the hotel has everything you could wish for.

The rooms are quite grand and spacious, we never used the bath or shower so can't comment on those.........no, we're not soap dodgers!

The first night we ate in the main restaurant, and the food was absolutely brilliant and good value too. The second night we ate in the Brasserie which wasn't so good, and no cheaper. If we came again we'd eat on the main restaurant each evening.

Breakfast was a sumptuous affair with many top quality hot options as well as the usual cereals, fruits, pastries, meat and cheeses, but all were superior quality.

The Clock Tower bar, is a nice place to chill out with plenty of comfy sofas and chairs and nooks to hide away in.

We went to the Spa a couple of times a day, using the pool, sauna, steam room and showers which were all excellent ( and free for guests ), and the Spa was also open to non-residents for treatments and spa days etc.

The only criticism from our stay would be the Spa treatments we both had, they were a bit weedy, we both like a good pummelling, but maybe that's just a personal preference thing?

All in all, it was an excellent stay, and we would certainly go again.
