“A pub”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

Visited twice, in 2009, the food was fine, the service fine, good honest pub grub, not a lot more you can say.

I have not stayed there so I cant say anything about the rooms..

Would I use it again?
Yep, fine for a bar/pub lunch

Stayed here with work for the weekend.

The lady that seemed to be in charge was friendly but the male bar staff were a tad unapproachable.

This really isn't a hotel, it's a local pub with some rooms upstairs, pretty dire rooms too.

My shower only produced scolding hot water so I had to have have baths all weekend which was a right pain.
The silicon sealants around the bath were all mouldy and the roof had leaked onto the ceiling. All bulbs were of the low energy variety so the room was poorly lit.
The most annoying thing was that my room was opposite the town square that is home to the town clock that chimed every hour, quarter and half throughout the night. Add to this a peppering of bored teenagers smashing a bus shelter up over the road and you have the makings of a terrible nights sleep.

Car parking seems to be an issue also as they only have about twelve spaces, worth bearing this in mind if you like me have a van with work equipment in it.

The food was ok. No complaints there, just a shame that the accommodation bit really let the place down very badly.

I wouldn't recomend staying at this hotel.

The hotel could prove difficult for people with mobility or fitness issues if they are placed on the top floor but I am certain that a word with the friendly staff would have elicited help up and down the stairs. Some redecoration is required but I would prefer it to stay as it is than change its appearance to the plastic, unimaginative "contemporary" look as achieved by the modern hotels where you can hear through the walls and it smells of cheap carpet or laminate .
The breakfast was generous but to be picky, I would have quite liked some fruit and a choice of how your egg is cooked.
Our room was dark but the bed linen and the bed was clean and comfortable. the shower head needed attention for flow but it did not spoil our stay.

The location is great as you can easily reach all around the coast and for us birdwatchers it was ideal for South Stack.

Would recommend as a good base to stay and travel round the area which the staff are only too pleased to make recommendations if needed.

we booked The Bull online, and were told that the price quoted, was less than it should be !! but they would accept our online price, We were given a room on the third floor, maybe as punishment, but it was awful, the bed was very comfortable, and the bed linen very clean, BUT, there after it went down hill fast, it was dark and unwelcoming, with peeling paint all around the windows, and not everything in the bathroom worked as it should. And as regards food, Veggies beware ! my Loved One went for "todays vegetarian special" Mediterranean Vegetable Bake, this turned out to be, cauliflower cheese with abit of garlic bread on the side, my first 'full' breakfast was my best meal of our stay, but the veggie breakfast, was the same as mine, but without meat, so I ended up with extra eggs on mine, and my Love, had beans and tomatos. Would we stay again ? Defiantly NO, There are rooms in the courtyard, these may of been of a better standard, [but that would'nt take much]. One last note, as we left our room for our first meal, a gentleman was just outside our room, with his case, and he was struggling to breath, we did'nt see him again, but if You do have a chest complaint, or any other disabilities make sure they are not sending You, up to the on line rooms.

We booked this hotel online for a trip to North Wales. When we pulled up at the hotel I didn't like the look of it from out side. The windows needed painting ( probably replacing ) and it looked a bit down trodden. After waiting 10 minutes for the receptionist to finish her phone call we were checked in and paid for the room. As we walked up 3 flights of stairs to get to the room I was beginning to have doubts about staying and when we went into the room it confirmed my concerns. The room was dark and scruffy with paint peeling off the walls, it felt very grubby so we turned round went down to reception and cancelled our stay.

Room Tip: They have rooms in the courtyard which may be better the in the main building.

As soon as you approach you can feel how this inn has always been the centre of the historic town of Llangefni. Visualise the welsh bards playing and singing whilst the farmers and drovers debated the price of cattle and sheep. You will still hear Welsh spoken by the local in the pub..

It is clean but a bit tired. Going up to the third floor will keep you fit! Food is good, staff are very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Car park is tiny, but there is a council car park at the side. Anglesey is a great place to visit, full of history, yet with good beaches and attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for a courtyard room, if you can't climb stairs.

This hotel is right in the centre of a small Welsh town. Whilst part of the Brain Brewery chain the food was very good, the staff were friendly and the prices most reasonable. The room was clean and of adequate standard, although we were on the top (third) for, so lots of stairs. Yes, we would use it again.
