“a very welcoming place”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

we stayed at the tafarnyrhos on a voucher on the 15th and 16th of april 1013.
asked for a quiet room we where given room 1 on the ground floor more about that later.
we booked in for 2 nights withe a 3 course dinner on first night.
made very welcome, with the staff, and the locals who shared some hot pork scratchings with us
bless em. of course as in a other persons review the locals prop up the bar. ITS THEIR LOCAL.
TALK TO THEM AND THEY ARE ALL FRIENDLY.
in my opinion wales is in 3 parts south wales can be a bit rough, and unwecoming.
north wale,s a mountain area and take em as you find em but the anglesey folk are islanders and make you very welcome.
and now the rest.. our dinner on the first night was superb i had the best mixed grill for some time. 10 out of 10 so good we ate there second night again super food and plenty of it.
the breakfasts where ok but as we tend to sleep in they had been kept warm, I would have preferred it cooked fresh and waited for it. but it still kept us going all day.
only down side rooms 1/2/3 and 11 have a large cooler fan mounted on the wall outside and the intermitent drone of this fan was uncomfertable to say the least. I have a problem with my hearing, and found it uncomfortable. however despite this i will return here next time we are in anglesey. next stop over was the valley hotel. for 2 nights

Room Tip: keep away from the cooling fans.

Stayed for a weekend during snow. We found the staff brilliant and the welcome warm. The room was cold and the bed was uncomfortable but it was in all fairness a reallya cold weekend, but the staff did their best. The food was good in the evaning but the breakfast left a lot a lot to be desired with no choice for anyone with dietary needs, as I am a vegetarian there was no choice. In fairness thats not their problem I am sure if I had informed them beforehand they would have accomodate my needs.

Easy to find at Rhostrehwfa, just off the A5 Trunk road.
It is the Moor Pub, with VERY little else nearby.
The Town of Llangeffni is a car ride away NOT A WALK, and is the nearest community.

My Wife & I (MATURE COUPLE) found the building sadly lacking in style.
It was probably refurbished 25 years ago (by it's appearance) and needs some serious love and affection now. The rooms were clean, and the staff (especially Ricky) friendly & helpful, and the food supplied was good value for money.
It will take more than a 40 inch TV to reinvigorate this Business.

Stayed 24th to 26th Feb 2013. Great value with KGB deal . Staff were really friendly and room was very clean although a little cold but then it was bitterly cold outside ! Food was good and location ideal for seeing Anglesey or for catching ferry from Holyhead. Would stay again.

Very disappointed compared to previous visits..... Plates are cold , some of the vegetables are cold ...dirty tables ....for £7.95 I don't think it's worth the money ...We are local people ...standards have dropped but the price has not .
