Travelled to Newborough Forest hoping to find red squirrels but didn't. What we did find was one of the best beaches we have ever seen. We have travelled worldwide and never been so pleased with our find. The £3.00 car entry was well worth it. The weather wasn't the best as it was very misty but we had a lovely walk and followed one of the trails, which were easy to follow.
We were planning our return before we even left and will return with chairs, BBQ and plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Anglesey is lovely and wherever we go we find a little gem but this was an exceptional find.

Newborough beach came recommended by a friend and it was fantastic. It was a lovely day which obviously helped. It was quite windy on the beach itself so we managed to find a sheltered area of the sand dunes and spent a few hours people watching and looking at the stunning views provided by the Snowdonia mountains.

Car parking spaces were pentiful and we went on a busy day. The toilet & shower facilities were good and although we didn't use them, there were some food vans available.

I'd love to visit this beach and forest again, next time spending some time exploring the board walks and forest itself.

Enjoy!

Advised by locals to see this beach, sadly due to our timetable we only arrived around 5 p.m. But we still had a good hour to walk along the vast expanse of sand. Glorious views as well.

Nice drive through the forest, plenty of parking, toilets available, plus during the day it looks as though there are places to purchase some refreshments. If we get the chance we would like to return and spend more time there. I believe there are excellent walking and cycling trails as well. Still a lot of people there at this late hour, lovely summer late afternoon, but there seems plenty of room for everyone and their cars so it was not a problem.

We didn't see anywhere to pay, some I'm assuming that there might be a kiosk somewhere along the drive where you pay on entrance and possibly it would be closed at 5 p.m.

Not sure how you would get there if you didn't have a car - long way to walk down through the forest. Worth taking the trouble to find out though.
